REVELATION KNOWLEDGE (2)

“But God has REVEALED them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” – 1Corinthians 2:10

The Holy Spirit is the Limitless Supplier of REVELATION KNOWLEGE: “But God has REVEALED them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (1 Cor.2:10). Revelation is a vital dimension of the Light of God! Indeed, the tripartite expressions of Divine Light – Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding – come through revelation. Paul prayed: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of WISDOM and REVELATION in the KNOWLEDGE of Him” (Eph.1:17). Jesus Christ Himself is described as, “a LIGHT to bring REVELATION to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel (Lk. 2:32).

Revelation Knowledge is that which is “revealed” by God, in contrast to Sense Knowledge which comes through mental exertion, carnal rationalization, or fleshly reasoning. There is a place for reasoning within the matters of Time, but where spiritual and eternal matters are concerned, reason falls short. The Greek word for ‘revelation’ – epignosis – means “precise and correct knowledge.” The Light of Revelation can be likened to a spiritual ‘laser’ beam that gives precise, correct knowledge, like physical laser beams give accurate measurements. In contrast, sense knowledge is that which comes into our mind through our five highly limited physical senses. God wants us to know Him intimately and to live victoriously on earth, hence He has given us the Holy Spirit to enable us walk in revelation.

Revelation is the Knowledge that God shines to illuminate our hearts and spirits by the Holy Spirit: “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the LIGHT of the KNOWLEDGE of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2Cor.4:6). We cannot know God or spiritual realities through sense knowledge, but by revelation: “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the THINGS of GOD except the Spirit of God” (v.11). God is a Spirit and spiritual things are imperceptible to the physical senses (Jh.4:24). Revelation is wholly spiritual in its genesis and essence! Paul, the writer of more than two-thirds of the New Testament testified: “How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery…” (Eph.3:3).

The deep things of God do not come through mental rigor, but by Revelation. Redemption is the root of Revelation. The Redeemed transact ‘Kingdom Business’ in the Realms of the Spirit through the ‘currency’ of Revelation. We deal in revealed truth, not reasoned-out facts. Until it is revealed, it cannot be released or received. Revelation has not ceased. God still reveals His Heart to His servants and sons. He is still revealing to His children the unfathomable “mysteries” of His Kingdom for lives of all-round Fulfilment and Impact (Mt.13:11).
