JOY AND GLADNESS

“…they shall obtain JOY and GLADNESS, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away”” – Isaiah 51:11b

REJOICE ALWAYS

REJOICE ALWAYS – 1 Thessalonians 5:16

JOYFUL HABITS OF THE HEART

“Rejoice in the LORD always. Again I will say, Rejoice” – Philippians 4:4

Our Philippians text teaches how the Gift of Joy can be nurtured through JOYFUL HABITS of the HEART. A habit is an aptitude or attitude acquired by practice. It is a consistent custom, manner, pattern or way of life. Habits are dispositions, thoughts or actions that are engrained, and that have become “second nature” through continued repetition.

Here in our Scripture Meditation text, we discover five habits in the Practice of Joy.

GOD IS MY EXCEEDING JOY

Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto GOD MY EXCEEDING JOY: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God – Psalm 43:4

REJOICE IN HIS SALVATION

And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; it shall rejoice in His salvation”” – Psalm 35: 9

THE JOY OF SALVATION

“Restore to me the JOY of Your SALVATION, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit” – Psalm 51:12

JOY EVERYDAY

The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me – A prayer to the God of my life” Psalm 42:8

ACCESS INTO THE FULLNESS OF JOY

For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly GLAD with YOUR PRESENCE– Psalm 21:6

THE JOY OF THE LORD

“But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have MY JOY fulfilled in themselves” – John 17:13

What is “the JOY of the LORD” – that Joy that God wants us to experience each day, and in all circumstances and situations? Based on Jesus’ words in John 15:11, there are three main characteristics which define the Joy of the Lord:

FULLNESS OF JOY IN HIS PRESENCE

You will show me the path of life; in YOUR PRESENCE is FULLNESS of JOY; at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.   Psalm 16:11

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
