“Let no one despise your youth, but be an EXAMPLE to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity” – 1 Timothy 4:12
Apostle Paul encouraged his son in the faith Timothy and Believers in Christ to be AGENTS of POSITIVE IMPACT: “Let no one despise your youth, but be an EXAMPLE to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity” (1 Tim.4:12). To be an example to others is to have positive impact on them. The Message Bible says, “Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity.” The young pastor was to not let anyone look down on him for his youth, but to set a different standard for himself. We also are called to be agents of God-glorifying impact through our speech, in conduct and what we do, and in faith, purity, and integrity.
As Believers, we must be set apart from the world in speech – the way we talk and the things we say. God-glorifying Speech encourages the weak (1The.5:11), praises God (Heb.13:15), does not take the Lord’s name in vain (Exo.20:7), is devoid of filthy language (Col.3:8); does not gossip or slander others (Pro.10:18-21), and avoids saying hurtful or rude words to others (Jam.3: 9-12). Ephesians 4:29 says, “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, but that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
We can exert God-glorifying impact in conduct. What are we known for among others? Being kind, caring, helpful, gentle, and respectful? Or, do others see us as brash, rude, proud, selfish, disrespectful? Conduct also includes in integrity; that is, acting the same even if no one was around. God not only sees all but He can also read the intents and motives behind our actions. Paul reminded Timothy: “Know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the pillar and the ground of the truth” (1Tim.3:15).
Believers must be exemplary in our love for God and for others – Agape Love: Unconditional, sacrificial and humble; the love that only a God who is Love can give. We cannot grow or conjure up this love on our own but it must come from God. We must allow Him to mature it in us as we know Him more. Humility is key to love because it considers others better than ourselves.
To be an example in Faith is to put our trust and confidence in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, be committed to serve God and follow His commands, knowing the scriptures to be true.
Purity or Integrity begins in our hearts. We must have the passion to cleanse ourselves of all thoughts and desires that do not align with the Word of God. We love what God loves and hate what God hates. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” (Mt. 5:8).

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
