AUTHORITY

And they said to Him, “By what AUTHORITY are You doing these things? and who gave You this AUTHORITY to do these things?” – Mark 11:28

Operating in the Supernatural Realm is backed by the reality of AUTHORITY!  Many people try to operate in the spirit, yet they do not understand the dynamics of the spirit realm. Understanding this realm comes with the awareness of authority. This is a safeguard against getting outside of one’s spiritual coast and covering. Knowing your boundaries and limitations in the spirit is a must (2Pet.2:11). Such understanding will also enhance your God-given gifts. Understanding realms of authority tames the human tendency to rebel. It gives you a better foundation in appreciating divine order. God’s order always undergirds true authority, and that which He establishes or sets in place cannot be moved. When you are subject to God's order, you do not have to worry about proving who you are or what you can do. Spiritual authority speaks!

Although there are many kinds of authority, authority in the spirit realm is the greatest. Some people would give everything they have to attain or obtain religious authority, political authority or even the authority that comes with fame or popularity. Athletes draw from physical authority, great minds lean on the authority of the intellectual realm, while the rich glean from their financial authority. Despite the superiority of spiritual authority, it often takes the back burner in people’s minds relative to the more obvious kinds of authority. Moreover, it does not relate to gender, tribe or tongue, because there are no such distinctions in the spirit realm. Spiritual authority is the secret weapon of creation: when it is well harnessed and channelled, it can rule over and affect every other realm that exists. Many people in high positions have tapped into this reality. That’s why witches and those from the dark side passionately crave and pursue authority in the spirit realm.

In His divine pattern, God appoints and establishes constituted authorities – thrones, dominions, principalities or, powers (Col.1:16). He places personalities “in authority” in the physical and spiritual realms (1Tim.2:2). And what He has appointed is anointed and cannot be denied (Rom.11:29). However, since the first rebellion by Lucifer, God’s authority especially in the hands of believers – redeemed and recreated spirit-beings – has been constantly challenged. The reason is simple: The devil hates believers! Whether it is in the natural or the spirit realm, demonic forces always fight against the constituted authority of God's elect. That’s why since the first rebellion, there have always been opposing authorities in the spirit realm – good versus evil, dark versus light, God’s Kingdom versus the kingdom of darkness. There is a continuing battle in the spirit. The real battle is not over land, oil, political positions or the keys to the stock market. It is over authority in the spirit.

Every human being has the God-given potential inside to rule and have dominion in the earth. In the Garden of Eden, God gave dominion to all mankind, not just to believers. The original dominion was lost when the first Adam fell through disobedience. Praise God, dominion was restored through Christ, the last Adam (1Cor.15:22,45). The serious challenge is for us believers to not use our God-given access to the spirit realm to actively represent our Lord Jesus Christ on earth. The devil has been recruiting multitudes to operate in the dark side of the spirit realm since the fall of mankind. The Holy Spirit is also beckoning us to walk with God as Adam did in the cool of the day and to operate in realms of dominion. Alleluia, Jesus has ALL AUTHORITY and every Believer in Christ has Authority in ‘Three Worlds’ – in heaven, on earth, and in hell: “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and those on earth, and those under the earth” (Col.2:10).

Two things are required for you to be effective in the spirit realm: (1) Walk with God in a personal relationship of faith, having nothing above Him in your heart; (2) Walk in the dominion that God has given you. Both are possible, by His Grace!
