Genesis 1: 1-8

“IN THE BEGINNING, GOD created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1: 1

There can be no better, greater or more impactful start to the New Year than to BEGIN WITH GOD: “IN THE BEGINNING, GOD created the heavens and the earth” (Gen.1:1). Without argument or preface, God is revealed and declared as the uncreated Creator! There is no attempt to offer proof that He exists. All debates are vain! God is before all things and created all things. Genesis tells us the beginning of almost everything except God. There is the beginning of the universe, of life, man, the seven-day week, marriage, family life, sin, sacrifice, redemption, death, the nations, government, cities, music, literature, art, agriculture, and languages.

With an insatiable curiosity to explore the universe, four questions humanity has grappled with for ages are: “What is all this?”; “How did it begin?”; “When did it all start?” and “Who is behind it?” GOD is the Answer to all four puzzles: the wonder, origin, timing, and Authorship of the universe. A personal, all-knowing, all-powerful God created all things. The Psalmist prayed: “Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God (Psa.90:1-2). The LORD is the Maker and Sustainer of all things (Jer.10:16).

Humankind can look back to the beginning – the commencement of creation – as an initial, historical reference point; however, no one knows when this beginning was. The Bible emphasizes the fact of creation by God, rather than the exact time that it occurred. Furthermore, the Hebrew word translated ‘create’ – bara – implies there was no previous existing matter when God created the universe. It describes creating out of nothing. God preceded any beginning humanity could ever imagine. The Self-existent God declares: “I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Endingthe First and the Last…” (Rev.1:8a, 11; 22:6a,13). Period!

Any beginning that doesn’t reckon with God is a ruse and an illusion! Therefore, GOD is the Fulcrum of our Prophetic Theme for this New Year: “God’s Words, Ways and Works”! God is central and foundational to whatever we desire to become, achieve or attain. Life is and must be all about Him! Humanity has tried to run the show without God – at global, national, communal, family, and personal levels – and failed woefully. The experiences of governments, institutions, leaders, and parents, all attest to this. Every attempt to shut God out of His creation accelerates humanity’s descent into disorder, depravity, and futility, notwithstanding obvious scientific and technological developments. The creatures can never maximize potential without the Touch and Input of the Creator!

Beloved, as you set out on the fresh Journey of another year on earth, let God be your Beginning! By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible” (Heb.11:3). He who framed the worlds by His Word is willing and able to frame, fashion, and fabulously fabricate your world for His Glory!

Beginning with God, the Light of His Words will transform any formlessness, void, and darkness in our lives into positive realities.

Beginning with God, we shall be guided and guarded to walk, run, and soar in His higher, winning Ways throughout the Year.

Beginning with God, He will manifest in and through us His creative, enriching, great, glorious, and wonderful Works in 2021.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
