BEGIN WITH THE WORD (1)

“In the BEGINNING was THE WORD…” – John 1:1a

Congratulations! 2023 is Our Year of LIVING BY GOD’S WORD, and it's apt to BEGIN with THE WORD: “IN THE BEGINNING was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God. He was in the BEGINNING with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (Jh.1:1-5). Without ambiguity, the WORD referred to here is our LORD JESUS CHRIST: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (v.14). John revealed in three verses the Eternal Majesty and Deity of Jesus Christ that had taken him more than three years to unravel!

GOD has been before the Beginning! GOD had no beginning and no end! GOD began the Beginning: “In the BEGINNING God created the heaven and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). The Almighty God is “Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End; the First and the Last” (Rev. 22:13).

GOD began the Beginning by HIS WORD: “In the Beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God” (v.1). It was all about the WORD, the WORD, the WORD! GOD commenced creation by HIS WORD: “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. THEN GOD SAID, “Let there be light”; and there was light” (Gen.1:1-3). Until God stepped in by HIS WORD, there was no beginning and nothing created. The moment GOD’S WORD stepped into the dark, empty, gloomy void, creation emerged, and everything began to take on content, substance, form, and shape.

GOD begins every New Beginning! He begins All Beginnings BY HIS WORD! Life has no meaning without God. Existence makes no sense without His Presence – His Spirit and His Word. If we follow God’s Pattern, we’ll get God’s Results! GOD always begins with THE WORD!

Year 2023 is our Year of LIVING BY GOD’S WORD: The Walk, Work, Worship and Warfare! This Theme is derived from the very Words of our Lord Jesus Christ (quoting Deuteronomy 8:3):

“But He answered and said, "It is written, ‘Man shall not LIVE by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceeds from the mouth of GOD’” – Matthew 4:4.

“But JESUS answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not LIVE by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD of GOD’” – Luke 4:4

This Year, we shall LIVE BY THE BOOK: “This BOOK of the LAW shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way PROSPEROUS, and then you will have GOOD SUCCESS” (Jos.1:8).

As we choose to BEGIN with GOD’S WORD, we shall be empowered to live, flourish, prosper, prevail, and WIN BY THE WORD, in Jesus Name!
