Bible Meditation:
John 6:23-40

And Jesus said unto them, I am the BREAD of LIFE: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst – John 6:35

“In John 6:26 the Lord Jesus disclosed that the provision of PHYSICAL BREAD on this great occasion was intended as a sign of His power to provide SPIRITUAL BREAD. He was saddened because the crowds who chased after Him were only interested in seeing something spectacular at a physical, human level…

As Jesus reached a great ‘high’ popularity, many people wanted Him to be their king. The next day the crowds pursued Him to the other side of the lake asking for MORE BREAD and MORE MIRACLES. But Jesus refused earthly honours. Instead He began to offend many of His hearers by telling them not to labour for food which perishes, but for that which endures to eternal life. Later the Lord Jesus told them, I am the BREAD of LIFE. What did He mean?

Without bread we die! Have you seen pictures of starving children? What a tragic sight. When we see such pictures we give a sigh of relief that we are never really hungry. But did you know that when God looks at us He sees our souls looking just pathetic and emaciated? The part of us that matters most of all – and which will survive our bodies – has been completely neglected. The real person inside us is starving and dying because we have lived without God year after year. We are desperately in need of heavenly food, and only the Lord Jesus can provide it.

The soul’s ‘food’ in not, of course, eaten by mouth, like bread. It is given directly to our souls by the Lord as we ‘feed’ on Him. When we repent of our sin and yield to Him as Lord, He puts spiritual life into our souls. Then, as we live and obey Him day by day, as as we pray for His help and blessing, He adds more things to that gift of spiritual life…Just as the well-nourished body can be vigorously active, so the well-nourished soul can also be active…”

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
