“Then GOD SAID, “Let there be LIGHT”; and there was LIGHT” – Genesis 1:3
Right from creation’s inception, God has modelled the CALL to a LIFE of IMPACT: “Then GOD SAID, “Let there be LIGHT”; and there was LIGHT” (Gen.1:3). The Life of Impact has been the Divine Pattern from the beginning, right into the Era of Redemption. However dark or dismal the situation may be, God has always taken the Initiative to bring positive changes: “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep...” (v.2). Rather than waste time describing the complexity of the formlessness or futilely complain about the density of the darkness, “the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then GOD SAID...” (vv.2-3).
Making an Impact demands movement. It takes making a move – the right move – to make an Impact! Passivity does not produce Impact. Here, it was first the MOVE of the SPIRIT, followed by the MOVE of the WORD! God’s Two Eternal Agents of Dominion, Creativity and Impact – The Spirit and The Word, operated in dynamic, divine Synergy! In response to the palpable chaos in creation, the God of Initiative and Impact didn’t call a ‘Pity Party’! He didn’t set up a celestial committee to critically analyze or deliberate on the severity of the problem. In absolute decisiveness, He promptly released the Move of His Spirit and declared the Creative Word: “LIGHT BE”!
There was an INSTANTANEOUS IMPACT: “...and there was light”! One would have thought that the Lord would rest on His oars or slide into temporary celebration over this phenomenal accomplishment. No! The GOD of IMPACT recognizes and values PROCESS as distinct from PERFECTION. He knew that the emergence of Light was only the beginning of unfolding PROGRESSIVE IMPACT. He would make ONE MOVE at a time – the Envisioned Move for each DAY. He evaluated the Initial Impact before making the next move: “And GOD SAW the LIGHT, that it was GOOD; and GOD DIVIDED the light from the darkness. GOD CALLED the light Day, and the darkness HE CALLED Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day” (vv.4-5). This was not a Careless or Passive Creator! The Lord was in Charge!
HE SAID. HE SAW. HE DIVIDED. HE CALLED. God left nothing to chance. He acted by Divine DESIGN; never by DEFAULT. And, that’s how He wants us to be in charge – under His Charge – in this Year of God-Glorifying Impact! The Person of Impact takes the Initiative as inspired by the Spirit of God and puts His Word to creative and constructive work. The Person of Impact says: “IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME!” The Person of Impact does not throw pity parties, make excuses for failure, engage in the Blame Game, or fall into a cocoon of complaining or murmuring mode. The Person of Impact says: “Lord, show me the next move to make; lead me on the next step to take!”

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
