Bible Meditation:
Psalm 18: 1-19

“The LORD is MY ROCK and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, and my stronghold” – Psalm 18:2

Beloved, as we stand on the threshold of the New Year 2020, join me to CELEBRATE CHRIST – the ROCK of AGES: “The LORD is MY ROCK…” (Psa.18:2a). The Lord Jesus confirmed His revelation as Christ to be the Rock – the Foundation – upon which His Church would be built: “…and upon this ROCK I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Mt.16:18). David described the Lord thus: “The LORD is MY ROCK and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, and my stronghold” (Psa.18:2).

I can testify from birth till now that the Lord has been…

My Rock – my Foundation: To Him I have recourse for shelter, safety, supply, and support; in Him I am secure from all danger; on Him I build my hopes of eternal life and earthly fulfilment.

My Fortress – my Garrison and Stronghold, place of strength, safety, and refuge: “For You are my ROCK and my fortress; therefore, for Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me” (Ps.31:3).

My Deliverer – Liberator, Who causes me to escape: “Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped” (Psa.124:7). He delivers me from all afflictions and temptations; out of the hands of all enemies; from a body of sin and death, and from the wrath to come.

My God – the Almighty, Strong, Mighty to save; who knows all, sees all, and performs all things for me: “I will cry to God Most High, to God who performs all things for me” (Ps.57:2)

My Strength, in whom I will trust – signifying firmness, fountain, source, and origin: “Blessed be the LORD my ROCK, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle (Ps.144:1). I will “trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength” (Isa.26:4).

My Buckler – my shield and defender, who covers my head and heart from the enemies’ darts: “…He is a shield to all who trust in Him” (Ps.18:30). He protects and defends me from my enemies, and preserves me from the fiery darts of Satan.

Horn of my salvation – He pushes, scatters, and destroys my enemies and their horns: “And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David” (Lk.1:69).

My High Tower and Stronghold – He elevates me so high as to be out of danger: “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” (Pro.18:10). In Christ, I am above and out of the reach of every enemy. This is His assurance to me: “He will dwell on high; his place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; bread will be given him, his water will be sure” (Isa.33:16) "and my refuge, my Saviour, thou savest me from violence" (2Sam.22:3).

Please join me to celebrate Christ, the Rock of Ages and Ancient of Days with this hymn – O God, our Help in Ages Past:

O God, our help in ages past, our hope for years to come, our shelter from the stormy blast, and our eternal home.

Under the shadow of Thy throne Thy saints have dwelt secure; sufficient is Thine arm alone, and our defence is sure.

Before the hills in order stood, or earth received her frame, from everlasting Thou art God, to endless years the same.

A thousand ages in Thy sight are like an evening gone; short as the watch that ends the night before the rising sun.

Time, like an ever-rolling stream, bears all its sons away; they fly forgotten, as a dream dies at the opening day

O God, our help in ages past, our hope for years to come, be Thou our guard while life shall last, and our eternal home.

I celebrate Christ – Rock of Ages, my Help in ages past, Hope for years to come, and my Eternal Home!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
