Bible Meditation:
Luke 1: 26-55

“He will be GREAT, and will be called the SON of the HIGHEST; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David” – Luke 1:32

Beloved, join me to CELEBRATE CHRIST – The SON of the HIGHEST: ““He will be great, and will be called the SON of the HIGHEST; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David” (Lk.1:32). he is the real reason for this Season! Yet, His greatness lifted others to greatness. The birth of the Son of the Highest elevated the status of others. Though born in the humblest of circumstances, everything about Him is great. His birth ushered an ordinary Jewish maid into greatness! Think of the eternal privilege bestowed on Mary: this young lady was to conceive in her womb, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Highest!

The mystery of godliness – the incarnation of God – was to take place within her! All about the conception and birth of Jesus was full of wonders: “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory” (1Tim.3:16). A special and great angel of God – Gabriel – was sent to this humble maiden – Mary in Nazareth of Galilee; and the heavenly emissary described her as having “found favor with God” (v.30b). In his very first words the angel told her of a great gladness and joy which was to be her portion. Expressing the ground for the Joy, the angel declared: “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” (v.28b). The content of all the joy and gladness was obvious: “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus” (v.31).

His Name is the greatest and highest: “…and shall call His name Jesus” (31b). There is heavenly melody in that blessed Name. What would this world be without the Name of Jesus? This marvellous Name has filled the world with melodious Joy. The Name, Jesus, is as a celestial anthem, which obviates sadness and sorrow. The melody of this miracle-working Name is heard in all known languages, among all peoples, and within a myriad hearts and souls. This wonderful Name has charmed the hearts of all the weary pilgrims that seek their way to the Paradise of God. This powerful Name has transformed the poor, disconsolate and weak at heart into people of courage and confidence. The Name Jesus is so beautiful, it has miraculously changed dark, sinful hearts into shining sanctuaries of the Living God!

“…and the Lord God shall give Him the throne of His father David” (v.32b) – Jesus is King! He is our King. He rules us now by His blessed Word and Spirit. And He shall rule us for all of eternity. David – His father – a beautiful but imperfect typology, was the man after God’s heart – an epitome of humility, ever ready to kneel before God. And there is not one like the lowly Jesus. No, not one! No, not one! That’s why God has highly exalted Him and “given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil.2:9-11).

Jesus, the Son of the Highest was conceived by the Power of the Highest: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the POWER of the HIGHEST will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God” (v.35b). In Christ, the Covenant God of Israel came to visit His people. Jesus is God in human garb. Justice and righteousness demanded that God become Man to purchase redemption for humanity. This is the Season’s real reason! In humbly celebrating the Son of the Highest, we shall encounter His Greatness and experience the Power of the Highest!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
