Psalm 33:1-22

Sing to Him a NEW SONG; play skilfully with a Shout of Joy – Psalm 33:3

One of the most impactful ways of celebrating someone is to compose and sing songs in their honour. It is common for example, for family and friends to sing for birthday celebrants. This same concept applies even more to celebrating the King of Glory. There is a power in melodies and a uniqueness in music and songs that sharpens the memory and reinforces the remembrance of God’s Word, Will, and Ways. Great songs transcend the human lifespan; they live beyond us. Songs can enhance our communication of appreciation and gratitude. They can also help us recall words and ideas we might otherwise forget. That’s why children are best trained through songs. Celebrating God in songs is what I call “Singspiration”!

In the instance of Israel, God knew that the Israelites would foget Him when they entered the Promised Land (Dt.31:20). They would forsake Him, turn to idols, and reap troubles (vv.16-18). He therefore asked Moses to compose a song and teach it to His people so that they could remember their past intimacy with Him and the sin that hampered their relationship (Dt.31:19-22). The thirty-second chapter of Deuteronomy forms the content of that song. Most importantly, God wanted His people to recall His nature and character: “He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He” (Dt.32:4). This verse is one of my most beautiful Songs to the King of Glory!

What would you want to remember and celebrate about the King? Is it His Glory, His Holiness, His Love, His Power, His Names, or His Faithfulness? Simply receive inspiration for a song that celebrates Him. The best inspiration comes from His Word and by His Spirit (Col.3:16). Indeed, pondering on God’s Glory inspires Songs in our hearts. We are admonished to be filled with the Spirit “speaking to one in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Eph.5:19). If you request in faith, the Lord will inspire Songs of Praise from the depths of your grateful heart, to Him who is worthy of eternal adoration. Paul testified to singing with the spiirt and with the understanding (1Cor.14:15). James 5:13 recommends that the merry sing psalms. The book of Revelations is filled with songs (Rev.5:9; 14:3; 15:3).

Life can be so beautiful and fulfilling when you learn to start the day with a Song in your heart about God – His Grace, Goodness, and Glory. There are many songs and templates of songs in the Bible that can trigger inspiration. The Psalms in particular is a Compilation of Songs and Hymns; individuals and groups singing to God and sharing their deepest and most intimate thoughts with Him. From the first psalm, which speaks of the blessed person, to the last, an anthem of praise, these ancient songs provide the paradigm par excellence of how we believers should engage with our Father-Lord. They present an interactive dynamic between God and His people. Why not breakthrough into your own dynamic today? Call your soul to attention, and receive a New Song to celebrate the King, and see Him prove Himself as your Help and Shield (Psa.33: 20).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
