Joshua 24: 14-27

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, CHOOSE for yourselves this day whom you will serve...” – Joshua 24:15a

A positive, profitable impact in life is rarely accidental. There must be CHOICES for IMPACT: “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, CHOOSE for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Jos. 24:15). This scripture highlights personal responsibility and freedom to choose our course in life. Joshua encouraged the people to make choices that’ll confirm their commitment based on what God had done in the past.

Joshua was telling Israel: “You have a choice to make. You can continue to serve God after I’m gone or not. It’s up to you.” God in His infinite Grace and Love gives room for making choices, which often define us. Choices are powerful. We must choose wisely, being sensitive to how our choices will affect us, others, God’s Plan and purposes, and the world around us. We’ve noted how Focus and Vision are major Drivers of Impact. However, for Focus to be sharper and Vision to grow in clarity until it speaks and begins to yield profitable rewards, there must clear, prayerfully defined choices.

Moses also said: “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deut.30:19). This verse emphasizes the consequences of our choices, reminding us to choose life and follow God’s Command! We can learn to make choices that honour God in all aspects of life: “...whether you eat or drink, or whatever you so, do all to the Glory of God” (1Cor.10:31b).

Life is a collection of Choices – major, minor, tough, and trivial. Making impactful choices that lead to blessings and align with God’s purpose, involves prayer, waiting, seeking wisdom, and understanding His Will. Even when choices seem uncertain, we can trust that God is working for our good and the Glory of His Kingdom. We can trust in His Wisdom and seek His guidance to make right choices: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Pro.3:5-6).

God does not intend for us to be fretful abound making choices. All He demands is that we ask for WISDOM at every junction. Our choices are meant to shine as examples of Christian living, impacting the lives of those around us (Mt.5:16). By prayerfully considering the scriptures, godly principles, and the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit, we can make choices that reflect God’s Character and Values, and that produce a positive impact on the world, as well as eternal, God-glorifying Impact.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
