CONQUER

Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the LORD said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed – Joshua 13:1

Let’s keep thinking and talking CONQUEST. In the nineteenth chapter of Revelations, we see seated on a white horse the Conqueror of conquerors – “Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war” (Rev.19:11a). In Him, you were recreated to reign; and born to conquer and win in health, marriage, ministry, finances, destiny fulfilment, and every sphere of life (2Cor.5:17). Life is about conquering, defeating enemies and winning battles that confront us  daily. Whoever must win must be on the winning side and possess the Winning Word. Our God has never lost any battle, though men may. We are favoured because Almighty God is on our side: “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom.8:31). The answer is, ‘No one’!

Those who know you may see you as a failure but God in His Word calls you a Conqueror, nay – "…more than conquerors through him that loved us" (Rom. 8:37). Men may label you a defeated person, but what God’s Word calls you is the truth, and is more important than how the world labels you! You are not a failure because God’s Word didn`t say so. His plan overrules the schemes of the devil or any wicked agent whether known or unknown. Depend on God’s judgement rather than human opinions or people’s assessment. It is the counsel of the Lord that shall stand over your spirit, soul, and body: “The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations” (Psa.33:11).

You are destined to conquer in life, irrespective of what people say. Only the Will of God shall prevail in your health, home, finances, children`s life and career: "There is no wisdom nor understanding or counsel against the LORD" (Pro. 21:30). The wicked may be plotting for your down fall but God has plans of progress and prosperity for you: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jer.29:11). His plans for you are for a blessed future, not a disastrous one. God’s Word is His mind for you. Depend on it and you will never fail.

Your life’s conditions need not determine your destiny. Not even your age is permitted to limit your conquests in life. There is no age limit to who God can use. Moses stepped out in his ministry at the age of eighty: “And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh” (Exodus 7:7). God, who calls, strengthens! He told Joshua: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed” (Jos.13:1). In God’s vocabulary, advancing in age causes you to advance in life, forge into the future, and conquer new grounds. Rather than retire into the doldrums, God revived Joshua for the battle field. Joshua advanced, fought, and conquered because the Lord was with him.

This is the divine agenda for every believer as we advance in years: “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing" (Psa.92: 12-14). Age should not be an excuse for you not to do accomplish great things in and for God. The Ancient of Days says: “even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you!” (Isa. 46:4a). He is not limited by our age, status or stature. He can do what He promised to do regardless of anything. You are always a winner as long as you remain in the Lord Jesus. You were born to conquer!
