Deuteronomy 28: 1-14

“And all these BLESSINGS shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God” – Deuteronomy 28:2

Scriptures reveals several dimensions of God’s COVENANT BLESSINGS. Deuteronomy 28: 1-14 outlines our Covenant rights – our rights in Christ! The Covenant is central to God’s relationships with humankind. God has used His covenanted relationships with people to accomplish His purposes throughout history. In Old Testament times, He provided the tabernacle in the wilderness as the center of covenant activity for the Israelites. The twelve tribes of Israel situated themselves around the tabernacle, where the cloud of glory was. When they went into the Promised Land, a temple was built, and this became the center of covenant activity.

In the New Testament, the Church and the heart of individual believers are now the centers of covenant activity. The local church is the epicenter through which God uses the covenant to direct His kingdom; hence, it is called: “the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” (1Tim.3:15b). The local church holds and upholds God’s Word, and His people are fed and nourished there by His Word. From that nourishment, God’s New Testament people are meant to engage in dynamic ministry, so that the impact of His kingdom might spread. The following are twelve key dimensions of the Covenant Blessing that God commands on the obedient, as recorded Deuteronomy 28: 1-14:

Geographical blessings: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country” (v.3). Wherever God has located me per time is my place of blessing. My life is not conditioned by geographical situations. It doesn’t matter what’s happening AROUND ME because what’s happening IN ME makes a difference.

Family blessings: “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body…” (v.4a). In the Covenant, my children and their generations are blessed.

Material blessings: “…the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks” (v.4b). Supernatural divine Increase and multiplication of possessions are my portions.

Occupational blessings: “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl” (v.5). The labour of my hands is blessed; and all of my food supply.

Dynamic blessings: “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out” (v.6). As a child of God, I’m blessed in my coming and my going; in all of my life’s journeys.

Victory in battles: “The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways” (v.7).  In Christ, I have absolute Victory and total Triumph.

Economic blessings: “The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all you set your hand…” (v.8a). I am blessed in my finances and in all that I undertake.

Territorial dominion: “…and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you”” (v.8b). Through willingness and obedience, I will eat – access and enjoy – “the good of the land” (Isa.1:19).

Blessings of Divine Distinction: “The LORD will establish you as holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you…” (v.9). God further assured: “then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you” (v.10).

Blessings of Increase: “And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of the body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you” (v.11). God shall make me have a surplus of prosperity through my children, work, and wealth.

Showers of Blessings: “The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season…” (v.12a). I’ll always enjoy Heavenly Rains – divine favour – in due season.

Divine Elevation and Promotion: “And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath…” (vv.13a).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
