Bible Meditation:
Isaiah 54: 1-17

“For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My COVENANT of PEACE be removed,” says the LORD, who has mercy on you” –Isaiah 54:10

We serve the God of Covenants and Father of Mercies. The COVENANT of PEACE is significant among His covenants: “For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My COVENANT of PEACE be removed” (v.10a). In His abundant mercy, the Lord affirms: “My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips” (Psa.89:34). A covenant is a binding agreement or contract between two or more parties. It normally consists of promises and conditions of fulfilment. God delights in covenanting with His people, and He has never and will never break covenants. His promises are eternally true: “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (2Cor.1:20).

The Bible has records of God’s covenants with chosen individuals and particularly with His chosen people, the nation of Israel. One such notable covenant is recorded in Numbers 25: 6-13. Here, the holy zeal of a young man, Phinehas, the grandson of Aaron the priest, provoked Jehovah to establish with him a “covenant of “peace” (Num.25:12b). This covenant became the right and privilege of generations of priests after Phinehas. As powerful as Phinehas’ covenant was however, it remains only as a pattern hidden in the archives of the old covenant. Thank God, Jesus Christ “has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises” (Heb.8:6). This New Covenant is otherwise known as “the covenants of promise” (Eph.2:12).

Believers in Christ are children of the covenant. We are not kept in the dark as to who the recipients of the covenants of promise are. Ephesians 2:12 speaks of a time in the past, when “…you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.” That scripture spoke of those “without Christ.” For anyone who is IN CHRIST, the good news is in verses 13 and 14: “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been made near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is OUR PEACE…” We who are in Christ Jesus have been brought into an intimate, living, covenant relationship with the Holy One of Israel, the God of all creation. We now have the right to be called “the children of the covenant” (Acts 3:25).

We are no longer aliens or strangers to the covenants of promise. Ours is the New Covenant (Heb.12:24). It is a better covenant “established on better promises” than the old covenant of sin, law, and death (Heb.8:6). It is an everlasting covenant (Isa.54:10; 55:3). It is the covenant of life and peace: “My covenant was with him, one of life and peace, and I gave them to him that he might fear Me; so he feared Me and was reverent before My name” (Mal.2:5). Beloved, if you’ve repented of sin and affirmed your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you have become a child of the covenant. Also, you are privileged to be a “holy priesthood” in the Lord (1Pet.2:0). God’s covenant with you, more than with Levis, is a covenant of life and peace! Walk in the reality of this word!

Prophesy with me: In Jesus most exalted name, I have received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I am a covenant-child of God. I am in a covenant relationship with the Most High. I operate in the new covenant, the better covenant established on better promises. I stand on the covenant of LIFE and PEACE. I shall not die but live, to declare and demonstrate the glory of my Father-God. God is keeping me in PERFECT PEACE because my heart is fixed on Him and I trust in Him (Isa.26:3). My children are taught of the LORD, and walk in GREAT PEACE (v.13).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
