Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm – Daniel 6:3 (NKJV)
Another biblical model of dominion and a Kingdom-champion who accomplished life’s purpose in a strange land – Babylon, was Daniel. His life and ministry teach us to ‘Dare to Walk in Dominion’ – Dare to be a Daniel!
Daniel dared to be distinct in an era in which conformity was the norm, and he was greatly rewarded for his decision. He determined to be counted on the side of purity and prayer in a Babylonian system that was filled with corruption, defilement, and iniquity. Very early in life, he took a stand against worldliness and Babylonian corruption and contamination: “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself” (Dan.1:8).
Expectedly, Daniel’s decision and determination attracted strong opposition and severe persecution. Through a series of antagonisms and hostilities, Joseph’s purposeful stance was consistently defended by the God of Israel, until the young man excelled and became a Star in a strange land (Dan.6:3). Even then the oppositions multiplied in intensity. After all of their futile machinations however, this was the conclusion of Daniel’s adversaries: “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God” (Dan.6:5b). An unrighteous decree was fabricated, promulgated, and targeted to bring down this prayerful Prime Minister.
Daniel was accused of praying to his God, contrary to the unholy decree, and was cast into the den of vicious lions. The den was sealed with the king’s signet ring, but Daniel’s destiny was sealed against sudden destruction. God shut the mouths of the lions and they became friendly with Daniel in the Den (Dan.6:22). There are dominions and there is a Dominion. By the time the God of Daniel had demonstrated His Dominion, all the dominions of Babylon had no choice but to bow: “I make a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end” (Dan.6:26-28).
Have you discovered your primary Place of Calling? Are you ready to pay the Price for the Prize? Will you dare to be a Daniel that has purposed to stand for righteous in the midst of pervading perversion? The Lord will confirm your calling with His Spirit of Excellence and cause you to shine as a Star even in a strange land, and amidst the world’s gloomy horizon.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
