THE DIGNITY OF CHOICE

Date:
Monday, May 18, 2015
Bible Meditation:
Deuteronomy 30:14-20

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD – Joshua 24:15

God has gifted You and I with the dignity of choice. It is through choice, not chance that we forge our futures. CHOICE, not chance, determines destiny.

Moment by moment, determining your destiny is up to you. God has defined your destiny. You will have to make choices for or against it. We are all in possession of the power – under God – to shape our destinies – moment by moment, by CHOICE.

CHOICE is what differentiates us from all other creatures of God. Choice is a divine gift – our ultimate freedom. We owe it to our Creator to use the power of choice wisely. No one can ever take it from us. God has put this dominant force in the human will – the force of choice, willingness and decision. One of the greatest experiences on earth is knowing that you have linked your will with the Will of the Father.

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. (Isaiah 1:19-20)

Everyday of this week, month and year, you will be faced with myriads of choices, options and decisions to make. You will be presented with thousands of moments of choices. Many have made choices in past years that led them into bondages, broken homes, defeat, debts, destruction, and even death. May you be wise to understand what the Will of the Lord is on every matter and to choose in line with it and never regret (Ephesians 5:17).

How then can we choose wisely? Consider these two thoughts:

o Learn the value of PRE-DECIDING: making the decision before the situation presents itself, before temptation arrives, and then remaining true to your values. If you wait for a crisis to determine your values, you will have no values.

o Define your PURPOSE, know your VALUES and PRINCIPLES and stay committed no matter what follows.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to put the dignity of choice You have given me to positive and eternally-beneficial use!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
