“My soul, wait silently for GOD ALONE, for my expectation is from Him” – Psalm 62:5
DIVINE INTIMACY for IMPACT manifests through total trust and reliance on GOD ALONE: “My soul, wait silently for GOD ALONE, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved?” (Psa.62: 5-6). This opening verse highlights the importance of actively waiting on God, not seeking answers, solutions, or options elsewhere, but finding quiet expectation in His Presence: “Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation” (v.1). The psalmist envisioned God as his "Rock" (v.2) and "Refuge" (v.8). Only in God could he find stability and peace amidst life's turmoil. God was his solid Foundation and secure Refuge.
In times of need or trouble, the Secret Place of Prayer must be our first and only recourse. Our only Hope for Salvation comes from waiting patiently for God's intervention; hence the psalm encourages complete openness and vulnerability in prayer, sharing all anxieties and concerns with God without reservation – “Trust in Him AT ALL TIMES, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us” (v.8). Unwavering Trust in God is repeatedly emphasized as key to experiencing Intimacy with Him, even when we are faced with challenges.
This is the chief secret of Divine Intimacy: to come to God as our only Source of Hope and Help. God loves it when we look up to Him alone for relief; when in any situation, we have no Plan B, no other option to default to if things don’t come through. On the contrary, His jealousy is kindled when we entertain other deliverers. The Secret Place is the brink where we wait on God, seek His intervention, and cry out to Him for wisdom and revelation: “He who dwells in the SECRET PLACE of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psa.91:1).
True Christian transformation comes as we develop a genuine, fully committed, daily interaction with God – in His Word and led by His Spirit. Whenever we’re inspired by the Holy Spirit to wait on the Lord only and stand in faith for Him to intervene sovereignly for us, we step into the God-zone. There, our role is to gaze upon Him, love Him, grow in patience and faith, and obey. His roles are to reveal the Power of His Arm, Splendour of His Majesty, and awesomeness of His eternal purposes, and to release resurrection power in His time and way. It was toward this glorious dimension that David pointed: “He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved” (v.6).
This is much deeper than the casual reading of scripture or skimming through a devotion. It is about cultivating the habit of getting alone with God in His Word, being guided by the Holy Spirit, genuinely applying God’s Word, and genuinely responding to Him in our actions.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
