DIVINE VISITATION (2)

Bible Meditation:
Genesis 18: 1-14

Then the LORD APPEARED to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day” – Genesis 18:1

DIVINE VISITATION begins with GOD: “Then the LORD APPEARED to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day” (Gen.18:1). It is an act of Sovereign Grace – God appearing to man; not by human effort. Here, it was divinely initiated by God (v.1). However, Abraham showed a sensitivity and readiness. He was in "the heat of the day" – a time for rest, yet he was alert and ran to meet his visitors (vv.1-2). Divine Visitation may come in ordinary moments. Being spiritually alert and hospitable to divine opportunities is crucial. Abraham passed the Test of Hospitality (vv. 3-8). His eager service to strangers opened the door for the encounter!

God desires to be involved in the personal, daily lives of His children. He wants to visit our “tents” – homes, marriages, businesses, vocations, and ministries, on purpose. God visited Abraham to specifically reaffirm that the promise made years ago was not forgotten. Divine Visitation brings focus to God’s timing and purpose: “...I will certainly return to you according to the time of life...” (v.10). God’s Word will find fulfilment, regardless of how long the waiting has been. God wants to visit our tents and cause a reversal of natural limits (vv.11-14). Sarah’s barrenness and old age were irrelevant to the Almighty, as His visitation brings life out of dead situations and overturns natural impossibilities.

Though we live in treacherous times, let’s cultivate an attitude of Hospitality and be receptive and kind, as our next visitor could be an agent of divine destiny. Like Abraham, let’s learn to stay alert at our tent door, sensitive to divine nudges in our daily, "ordinary" life. We should not become complacent in our walk of faith. We must also trust in God’s Timing. Even when promises seem delayed, let’s know that He has an "appointed time" that is guaranteed to arrive, if we choose to overcome doubt with the Word: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?" (v. 14).

In Jesus’ Name, I decree that:

The God of Abraham is visiting my home, family, and vocation. Every long-awaited promise in my life shall find fulfilment in this season.

I receive the Grace to host God's Presence at all times. I am blessed to see and recognize every opportunity for a divine encounter.

I break free from every form of limitation and barrenness. My God-inspired visions and dreams come back to life by the power of His visitation.

My season of unending laughter and joy has started, and the Lord turns my trials into testimonies and every shame into glory.

I shall carry my Isaac – my testimony – this year. I shall no longer labour in vain; I receive the grace of divine acceleration and restoration.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
