“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and EVERY TONGUE which rises against you in judgement you shall condemn” – Isaiah 54:17
GOD’s Word guarantees our DOMINION over DARTS of TONGUES: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and EVERY TONGUE which rises against you in judgement you shall condemn” (Isa.54:17). One of the chief functions of the devil is that of “the accuser of the brethren” (Rev.12:10). The devil consistently fashions “weapons” of destruction to fulfil his three-fold ministry to “steal, kill, and destroy,” but Jesus, the Author of Life” has given us eternal life – indestructible and endless life – in Him (Jh.10:10).
Scriptures reveal a great deal about Tongues: “You shall be hidden from the SCOURGE of the TONGUE, and you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes” (Job 5:21). Psalm 31:20 assures: “You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the STRIFE of TONGUES” (Psa.31:20). The Psalmist also prayed: “Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the rebellion of the workers of iniquity, who SHARPEN their TONGUE like a sword, and bend their bows to SHOOT their arrows – BITTER WORDS, that they may shoot in secret at the blameless.” (Psa.64: 2-4). James 3: 5-6 reveals the potency of the tongue for evil: “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity”! 2 Corinthians 12:20 lists few tongue-driven vices: “contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults.”
This month, we’ve meditated on Dominion in the Heart – over Fiery Darts (Eph.6:16). We examined our Dominion over darts of doubt, discouragement, deception, evil desires, delay, distractions, depression, denial, hurts, fear, anxiety, and worry. Practically all of these darts are propelled by words or released by tongues. Satan’s strategy is to “shoot” these fiery darts into the Believer’s heart, to weaken, destabilize, and ultimately destroy lives and destinies. He follows up by accusing us before God, of possessing his goods. Jesus modelled for us the response of Dominion: “The ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me” (Jh.14:30b).
The accuser has no power over the Child of God. Day and night his tongue rises against us in accusation or condemnation, but it is only a ruse. Before Redemption was perfected, our Lord Jesus declared: “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Lk.10:18-19). Not even tongues! Now, the Blood of Jesus shed on Calvary’s Cross and His Resurrection Power have dealt eternal blows on Satan’s works: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the world of the devil” (1Jh.3:8b). Colossians 2:15 reveals: “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” The only power the devil has to harm us is when we believe him, which implies disbelieving the promises of God.
Agents of darkness will always rise up against the Church and Believers, but God has promised to give us the words and power to face and overcome them. He has given us the Truth to prevail against all of Satan’s lies. Jesus told His disciples that when they are dragged before the judges for preaching the Gospel, they should not be perplexed as to how to respond (Mt.10:19). The Holy Spirit would give them the right words at the moment they are needed. Like Christ, who refuted every opposing tongue of His days, God will always stir up in our hearts His Living Word to quench every fiery dart of tongues programmed to assail our lives and destinies.
“This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord”! We have received an inheritance in Christ of everlasting Life. Part of our heritage is this promise of protection from Satan’s accusation, condemnation, oppression, and terror (v.14). But we exercise this Dominion of through the Power of our tongue: “Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Pro.18:21).

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
