Bible Meditation:
Psalm 147: 1-12

The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who HOPE in His mercy” – Psalm 147:11

In exercising DOMINION over DARTS of DEPRESSION, we must embrace Hope: “The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who HOPE in His mercy” (Psa.147:11). Verse 6 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” God delights in delivering from the pits depression those who hope in His Mercy, healing broken hearts, and binding wounded souls. The devil wants us to lose hope and start failing in faith. He wants to destroy our destiny, but he will not prevail because God’s love over us never fails! “For the LORD will not cast off His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance” (Psa.94:14). David said, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread” (Psa.37:25). Our Lord Jesus says: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb.13:5).

When everything seems to be falling apart and life seems hopeless, we should consider heroes of faith like Job and Jeremiah who wanted to give up, but ultimately overcame trials. God cannot lie and He will not abandon us. If He allowed us to be in a situation, we should be assured that we have a future. God’s will is not always the easiest road, but it’s the right road to take us through. He says, “I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isa.43:19b). God will help if we’ll ask Him. We shall not be put to shame as long as we trust in the Lord, commit our ways to Him, walk with Him, and continually commune with Him. Hopelessness leads to depression; hence, it is crucial that we always set our mind on Christ, and receive a peace like no other: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You” (Isa.26:3a).

When things seem hopeless and times so tough as though we cannot go through, let’s remember that God loves us. He sees what we’re facing. He is with us, and desires to be our very present Help: “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit” (Psa.34:18). When we hurt, God hurts with us. Maybe we feel like things have become too difficult and there’s nothing good left for the future. That’s what the enemy wants us to believe, but God has something different to say: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you…..thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jer.29:11).

Our adversary, Satan, wants to depress us and make us feel like things will never get better, like there’s no way out. He wants us to believe that we’re all alone. His strategy is for us to keep the experience of depression hidden. It’s easy to isolate ourselves and feel like no one else can possibly understand. The enemy likes it when we keep things hidden in the dark. However, God is Light, and when He shines the Light of His Word into our situation, it brings liberty and hope. It’s common for people to feel embarrassed when it comes to depression, but the greatest thing we can do in these situations is tell God and someone else and get it out in the open. We must not allow the enemy to isolate us, but take the opportunity to get things out into the light. Hiding makes everything seem worse than it really is. But when we get it out into the open, relief comes, and we allow God to use other people to help us.

No matter how  impossible our situation seems to be, God can make a miracle out of any situation, and cause all things – including life’s challenges – to work together for our good (Rom.8:28). “Now may the GOD of HOPE fill you with all JOY and PEACE in believing, that you may abound in HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Rom.15:3). Let’s learn to hold on to Hope anticipating great things and a glorious future in God!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
