DOMINION IN THE SPIRIT

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh – Galatians 5:16

God is a Spirit (Jh.4:24). He craves the communion of spirits. That’s why He created Man in His own Image and likeness – as a spirit-being (Gen.1:26-28). God created Man for intimate fellowship and communion. He never intended for humanity to operate outside of His Presence. To be spiritual also infers that Man was created to be super-natural; to operate beyond the natural, visible, or physical realms. There is a supernatural, spirit-world and a natural, material world. The supernatural is the foundation, nucleus and control room of all things. The natural answers to the supernatural.

God is supernatural. Man’s creation and making is rooted in the supernatural. God operates in the supernatural realm; but so does Satan, the devil. That eternal rebel used to be Lucifer, an angel of light, who fell due to sin, was cast down from heaven, and began his destructive mission of rebellion! Through Satan’s subtlety, man “died” and was dethroned to the natural realm. Humanity entered into a negative phase of existence, having lost the divine life – the vital sustaining force. Now, the entire world lies in a negative spiritual field of wickedness: “We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” (1Jh.5:19).

Although the human spirit ‘died’ in Adam, being separated from the divine Life; in Christ the spirit is made alive, “born again”, restored in fellowship with God (Jh.3:3). Dominion is the outcome of the restoration of the divine nature in Man: “by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2Pet.1:4). In Christ, you partake of the divine nature. You are quickened as a spirit after the order of your Maker. There is no middle ground in the spirit realm. You are either connected to God or to the devil. You either live supernaturally or end up becoming meat for the devil!

Jesus came on a mission to restore and re-enthrone Man back to the life of God which Adam lost. Through the new birth, you can once again live supernaturally on earth. The knowledge of the supernatural is vital to a life of triumph and dominion. You must re-discover your roots in God in order to unlock the vast potential of the supernatural for your fulfilment in life and destiny. God has “blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Eph.1:3). He wants us to be supernatural in attitude, outlook, thinking, talking, relating and actions. The alternative is for the negative natural to govern and dominate over us! Walking in the spirit, living in the supernatural, and exercising dominion are by choice, not by chance!
