DOORS AND DESTINIES

Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: – Proverbs 5:8

In the natural as well as in the spiritual doors have diverse functions. Doors serve as entries or exits. A door serves either as an entry or an exit or both. There are always two sides to a door: the inside or the outside; this space or that space. Some doors symbolically welcome and physically admit people: they beckon and say “Come!” Other doors imprison or keep people out.

Doors demarcate and mark out the boundaries of spaces. Doors may provide access, privacy, or security. They define the routes and paths of human circulation. Doors also direct and order movement. A door will tell you: “This is the way to go…Be focused”; whereas a wall will tell you: “This is a closed chapter.” How would you move and circulate the rest of this year? Doors have a lot to do with this! Doors are the defining lines for transition and change. Those who despise doors often end up in frustration and stagnation. Those who miss their doors end up in misery. Those who refuse to access their destiny doors deny themselves the pleasure of CHANGE!

DOORS are therefore fundamental to DESTINIES. Doors define DIRECTION and may ultimately determine DESTINATION. You never know what lies on the other side of some doors. Wisdom directs us to DISCERN DOORS and avoid the door of iniquity, the door that leads to the house of horrors: Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house (Proverbs 5:8). Wrong doors lead to wrong ends. Deceptive doors can lead to destruction! False doors may result in fatalities. Right doors lead to right ways. Success or failure, results or regret, standing or sinking: all are functions of our choice of doors.

As we meditate on DOORS, it is wise to DEFINE the doors you DESIRE God to open in your life. It is also wise to DISCERN the doors that must be shut and the doors you must avoid approaching. Some doors are deceptive; they appear like Temple doors, while leading to the PRISON or to the TOMB. Some doors are decorated like Palace doors, while ending up in the DUNGEON or the DITCH!

In the physical, doors exist at different spatial levels: there are doors into rooms, houses, compounds, estates and neighbourhoods. There are evidently more doors in creation than there are people. As it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual realm. There are spiritual doors into the hearts of men and people-groups. There are also doors into the hearts of kings, as well as doors into cities, regions and nations. These are the kinds of doors that only God can open; but we must call upon Him to do so! It is in the Divine Agenda of God that we His people make a DEMAND on the DOORS of CITIES and NATIONS: Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession (Psalm 2:8).

O, that the Lord would usher us through His prepared doors into our prepared places in destiny! May He go ahead of us to dismantle and destroy all demonic doors that stand as barriers on our pathways in the eternal Race! May the Lord always guide us to choose the right doors in Jesus name!
