EMPOWERED TO FLOURISH

“Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with POWER from on high” – Luke 24:49

When you are properly planted and correctly connected, you will be supernaturally EMPOWERED to FLOURISH! God designed humanity to flourish in His Presence; but there is no vacuum in the Spirit Realm. There are anti-flourishing forces that want to keep us down; that are out to prevent us from fulfilling our God-ordained destinies; and that want to truncate our journeys in life. It takes Divine Power, the Supply of God’s Spirit, and the Force of Faith to flourish – to grow and thrive in life. There is a Power to which all other powers bow: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Lk.10: 19). God also gives the Power to get wealth: “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant…” (Dt.8:18).

For you to flourish, God's power must constantly pull down all powers that oppose your well-being. Essentially, He empowers us through the Holy Spirit: “But you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit is the Carrier, Supplier and Distributor of God’s Power : “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38). The Power of God is also called the Anointing!

Here are Five Ways in which the Holy Spirit empowers us to flourish and live victoriously for the cause of Christ and glory of the Father:

He is your Helper: “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you” (Jh.16:7). He is ‘GOD WITH and IN US’! He helps and empowers us to live a flourishing life that radiates the goodness of God. As the flesh fights for control, the Spirit steps in and helps us to be who God created us to be; to energize and sustain us on a holy path. Beloved, enjoy His Presence and Partnership!

He empowers us for ministry: by imparting gifts that are needed in the Church (1Cor.12:4-11; Eph.4; Rom.12). The gift(s) that you receive will empower you for the calling God has placed on your life. Embrace what God has put inside of you and be His instrument for Kingdom purpose!

He empowers you through Insight into God’s Word: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you” (Jh.14:26). He empowers you with understanding and the ability to recall scriptures that apply to your life.

He empowers and guides your prayers: “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words” (Rom.8:26). Sometimes we have no words; we have so much to say that we’re not sure where to start; or sometimes we don’t have to have the right words. Lean on the Holy Spirit and allow Him to express to the Father what needs to be said.

He empowers and uses you to Witness for Christ (Acts 1:8): Witnessing to others about Jesus and making disciples is our great commission on earth. It’s literally the last thing Jesus said before He ascended into heaven! You are called to be an advocate and witness for Christ; do not shy away from it!

Be properly planted in God’s House, correctly connected to the Vine, and empowered to flourish by the Power of the Holy Spirit!
