ETERNITY OF LIFE IN CHRIST

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE – John 3:16

JESUS CHRIST gives MEANING to LIFE. In Christ, life is eternal; it transcends time – it is ever-lasting, lasting forever, never ending. God purposed and designed Man to be a Creature of ETERNITY passing through TIME. You are a Creature of Eternity passing through time!

Life finds meaning when you have a purpose that goes beyond this life. If your purpose is only for this life, then it’s EMPTY, because it has no lasting value. When you have ETERNITY IN VIEW, when you have a PURPOSE that goes beyond this life, then you have inexplicable peace and continual joy.

The natural world is extremely temporary and transient, passing away with everything in it; but eternity relates to permanence. Eternity is not measured in terms of time or change. ETERNITY is INFINITY!

In the same vein, the natural life – outside of Christ – is temporary and transient. God gives His children everlasting, eternal, permanent and perfect life – the REAL LIFE. TIME is the platform of preparation for ETERNITY. Your present existence is only a passage into real life, a place of preparation for your placement in eternity.

The thrill of this is that, in Christ you can HAVE eternal life in the Present Tense. You can experience and enjoy the foretaste of Heaven on this side of eternity! You are given the opportunity – the CHANCE – to live in this world of CHANGE; so that you can make CHOICES that would affect your placement in eternity, where things are permanent, where there will be no change as we presently know it.

The irony of this however, is that eternity, though everlasting, is not far away. Eternity is just ONE STEP away! There is only ONE STEP between life and death…ONE STEP from the realm of CHANGE and CHOICES into the realm of PERMANENCE and ETERNITY!

We should live each day in such a way that a sudden awakening in another world will not be a colossal disappointment for us! We must make the choices TODAY that would guarantee our eternal future!
