FAITH THROUGH THE FLOOD

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee… – Isaiah 43:2a

Floods are inevitable in the Journey of Destiny. It is not a question of “IF” but “WHEN” – “When thou passest through the waters…through the rivers…” Faith is refined through fiery fires; it is also tried, tested and toughened through life’s floods. Although our Sovereign God can initiate floods, Satan also engineers floods of opposition to delay, stagnate, stop or destroy the believer in the pathway of destiny.

Noah’s faith for example, reminds us of the flood God used to destroy the then known world. Hebrews 11:7 testifies: “BY FAITH Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” The FAVOUR of God qualified Noah with his household from perishing in the flood: “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord” (Gen.6:8). This favoured man however had to exercise his FAITH evidenced by OBEDIENCE: “Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he” (Gen.6:22). Noah’s faith was tested through the flood; and it came out strong and brought him through! Your faith in God will face the floods and bring you through! You shall not drown in the floods of life in Jesus name.

The Faith of Jesus silenced the satanic winds and waves and conquered the flood that tried to terminate his mission of delivering the Gadarene demoniac on “the other side of the lake.” Are there storms of opposition rising against you? Perhaps the enemy has perceived that there is a divine assignment for you beyond the storm! Hear the testimony of the Psalmist: “Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through FIRE and through WATER: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place” (Psa.66:12). FAITH is God’s vehicle to take you safely through the fires of trials unscathed and through the floods without drowning, in order to bring you to your “wealthy place.”

Beloved, never be afraid of the fires or of the floods. See them as potential stepping stones on the pathway to your “wealthy place” and “City of Habitation” (Psa.107:7). Your testimonies will ride on the crests of the tests of your faith. The floods of challenges will arouse and release the “Champion-Spirit” in you! In these end-times, great floods of iniquity, deception and persecution have been unleashed against God’s people, but our Faith will see us through!

Mathew 7:25-27 narrates the parable of two houses: one built on the rock and the other on the sand. The inevitable rains descended, the FLOODS came and the winds blew. The former stood firm, but the latter fell flat. As you build the house of your life, career, marriage, home, family and ministry upon the ROCK of God’s Word, Faith in God will pull you through. Your house will stand firm through faith, however vehement the floods may be!
