Bible Meditation:
Matthew 11: 1-15

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not DOUBT in his HEART, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith – Mark 11: 23

DOUBT is a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction about something. Although doubt may begin from the brain, physical senses and thoughts, the moment it takes root in the HEART it becomes a SPIRIT of DOUBT and a potent enemy of Faith! Doubt could even become DEMONIC! Doubt usually manifests after one has received information, knowledge or instruction about something. When for example, you come to know what the Bible says about a particular subject (such as blessings, deliverance, healing, holiness, or prosperity), but something else begins to push a contrary opinion into your mind, suggesting that the knowledge you have is incorrect or imperfect, watch out! That may be the Spirit of Doubt in operation.

Although the suggestions of doubt often come in very subtle ways and its arguments appear sensible, the spirit of doubt is the author of confusion, deception, error, falsehood and destruction. Doubt generates confusion in the mind: “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways” (Jam.1:7-8). Soon, the unfortunate victim may be driven into deception, error, falsehood and destruction. History abounds with stories of mighty men and women who were captured by doubt and who the devil successfully brought down from lofty heights into deplorable pits!

Matthew 11:2-6 describe how John the Baptist was captured by doubt. During the baptism encounter in Jordan, John was fully conscious of the heavenly affirmation of Jesus Christ (John 1: 29-34). He made it clear to his followers that his preaching was not about himself, but it was all about Jesus; that he must decrease for the Lord Jesus to increase (Jh.3:30). Suddenly, doubt crept in while John was in prison, and the affirmations turned into pathetic vacillation (Mt.11:2-6). John sent a doubt-laden message to Jesus to confirm if indeed He was the Messiah! The great prophet began to doubt the very essence of his assignment! Jesus not only re-affirm His Ministry by miraculous evidences, He took time to eulogize John’s calling and his heaven-birthed mission (Mt.11:7-14). In other words, Jesus was saying: “John, though you doubt my ministry, I know Who I am and also, I choose not to doubt yours. I affirm your calling even while you wallow in your prison of doubt!”

DOUBT is the opposite of FAITH. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb.11:6). Therefore DOUBT DISPLEASES GOD and whatever is done in doubt is an abomination to God. Romans 14:23 says: “And he that doubteth is damned…for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” Doubt is sinful. Doubt is evil. Doubt is of the devil. It is one of Satan’s vilest weapons against God’s children. Feed your faith and starve your doubt! Begin to feed your faith on the Word, so that every onslaught of the spirit of doubt may lie prostrate and defeated before you.

Prayer:
Lord, strengthen and guard my faith against the onslaughts of doubt; let me never fall from the pedestal of faith into the pit and prison of doubt in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
