FOLLOW JESUS AND BE MADE

Bible Meditation:
Matthew 4: 13-25

Then He said to them, “FOLLOW ME, and I WILL MAKE YOU fishers of men” – Matthew 4:19

“FOLLOW ME, and I WILL MAKE YOU…” Those who follow Jesus are sure to be MADE and can never be stranded. The Lord’s Mission is to MAKE us; to transform us into “Fishers of Men” – Agents of Transformation. He calls us to follow Him, makes disciples of us, prepares us to bear His Presence and anointing, and uses us to transform others into His own Image.

Before the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, Jesus spent years of intensive discipleship on the men and women He was preparing for the move of the Spirit. When onlookers saw the boldness with which Peter and John spoke, they realized that they had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13). They became worthy in the hands of He who promised to make them. God is able to bring forth springs and rivers out of any desert situation. Here are few biblical models of divine change:

  • Abraham, from an idolatry background became God’s intimate friend. God changed his association, location, name, confession, spiritual status (faithless to father of faith), social status (fruitless to father), and character.
  • Jacob was transformed from a supplanter to become a Prince with God. His name and character were changed.
  • Jabez tore the toga of a child of sorrow and prayed his way into blessings, honour, and divine enlargement.
  • Joseph in Egypt and Esther in Persia rode on the flow of favour, from slavery and servitude into dignity and royalty.
  • Mary Magdalene was delivered from demon-possession to become a holy witness to the resurrection (Mk.16:9).
  • As he followed the Master, Peter the unstable fisherman-disciple became a giant in the spirit and Apostle of Grace.
  • The Perfect Potter transformed the persecutor, Saul of Tarsus into Paul, the impactful Apostle of Faith!

God’s purposes transcend personalities and circumstances. Amidst the pervasive decay in virtually every strata of society, the Lord is transforming His children into Change-agents, Pace-setters, and Impact-makers in our circles of influence. He is quickening and multiplying disciples in every segment of human endeavour. He is preparing us as solutions to the problems of our generation; as answers to the challenges of our times. As we step into the last month of the year, it is pertinent to remember: There is no life committed to God’s hand that can ever become a waste or end as a byword. This is the season to FOLLOW JESUS, to be transformed into His Image, and to be MADE into His Vessel of honour and Glory!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
