GOD’S HOUSE – PALACE OF PEACE

“You will keep him in PERFECT PEACE, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” – Isaiah 26:3

GOD’S HOUSE is our Paradise and PALACE of PEACE: “For God is not the author of confusion but of PEACE, as in all the churches of the saints” (1Cor.14:33). Seated and exalted on the Throne of His Palace is the PRINCE of PEACE: “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God,  Everlasting Father, PRINCE of PEACE (Isa. 9:6). Perfect Peace is found in no other person or place than in the Prince of Peace. Peace is personified in Him: “These things I have spoken unto you, that IN ME you may have PEACE. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (Jh. 16:33). He is the Possessor, Source and Sustainer of Peace. His birth ushered in the era of divine Peace (Lk.2:14).

We live in turbulent times when Peace is a vital need, yet a rarely enjoyed resource! Amidst all of the storms, depression, perplexity, turmoil, and troubles, God is displaying His Peace in the hearts and lives of His children, and through His Church: “The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will BLESS His people with PEACE” (Psa.29:11). The Lord spoke specifically to His Church: “PEACE I leave with you, MY PEACE I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (Jh.14:27).

However turbulent the world may be, the Church is meant to provide the Platform of Peace, and be our Palace and Paradise of Peace: “Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn” (Psa.46:2-5).

PERFECT PEACE is possible in God: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isa.26:3). Verse 12 says, “Lord, You will establish peace for us, For You have also done all our works in us.” In order to enjoy this dimension of peace, the Lord, through His prophet, then gave an open invitation to His people: “Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past” (v.20). What better place to hide, than in His Paradise and Palace of Peace?

God’s thoughts towards us are thoughts of Peace: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, THOUGHTS of PEACE and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jer.29:11).

God speaks Peace to His people: I will hear what the LORD will speak, for He will SPEAK PEACE unto His people and to His saints: but let them not turn back to folly (Psa.85:8). The question is: How willing are we to hear and heed His words?

God blesses His people with Peace: “The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will BLESS His people with PEACE” (Psa.29:11). Paul assured us: “Now the LORD of PEACE Himself give you PEACE ALWAYS by all means. The Lord be with you ALWAYS” (2The.3:16). This is the Jesus kind of Peace – Peace always and by all means!

God’s Kingdom is a Paradise of Peace: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and PEACE, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom.14:17). Peace is meant to flow perpetually in His House: “Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your PEACE would have been like a RIVER, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea (Isa.48:18). “GREAT PEACE have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble (Psa.119:165).
