Bible Meditation:
1 Chronicles 16: 8-36

Remember HIS MARVELOUS WORKS which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth” (1Chr.16:12).

Scriptures speak profusely about GOD’S MARVELLOUS WORKS: Remember HIS MARVELOUS WORKS which He has done, HIS WONDERS, and the judgments of His mouth…Declare His glory among the nations, HIS WONDERS among the peoples” (1Chr.16:12, 24). In the corollary to today’s meditative passage – Psalm 105, verse 5 reads: “Remember HIS WONDERS which He has done, His marvels and the judgments spoken by His mouth.” In other words, God’s Marvellous Works refer to His WONDERS. God demands that we His people: (a) REMEMBER His Marvellous works; and (b) DECLARE His Wonders among all peoples. God’s Marvellous Works are innumerable, but the Bible provides insight into some.

Eliphaz, one of Job’s friends, in eulogizing God, declared some of the His Marvellous works: Who does great things, and unsearchable, MARVELOUS THINGS WITHOUT NUMBER.  He gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields. He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety. He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot carry out their plans. He catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them. They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope at noontime as in the night. But He saves the needy from the sword, from the mouth of the mighty, and from their hand” (Job 5:9-15). God’s marvellous works are great, unsearchable, and innumerable; some pertain to physical creation, others to His just acts among human beings.

Asaph, the Psalmist, recalled few of God’s Marvellous works among His people: “Marvelous things He did in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. He divided the sea and caused them to pass through; and He made the waters stand up like a heap. In the daytime also He led them with the cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. He split the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink in abundance like the depths. He also brought streams out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers (Psa.78: 12-16). Unfortunately, “the children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle” because “they did not keep the covenant of God; they refused to walk in His law, and FORGOT HIS WORKS and HIS WONDERS that He had shown them” (Psa.78: 9-11). It pays to remember God’s Works!

King David also mused on God’s marvellous Works: “I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works” (Psa.9:1). And in Psa’139:14, he exclaimed: I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; MARVELOUS ARE YOUR WORKS, and that my soul knows very well.If we know of no other marvel in the universe, we each acknowledge the marvel of our human frame! That’s why we must not treat the organs of the body as our own property, as if we had created them. All the faculties God gave us – sprit, soul, and body – are to be appreciated: “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Cor. 6:20). Whoever abuses or treats unwisely any faculty of mind, soul, or body will pay the penalty, either here on earth or on the other side of eternity!

The Greatest Marvel of all is the Manifestation of God’s Son and the wondrous transformation that occurs in a person’s life through the process of salvation in Christ: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory” (1Tim.3:16). God’s Marvellous deeds are always about rescuing, delivering, restoring, redeeming, saving souls, and straightening things. God takes pleasure in doing marvellous things in the lives of His Children and He’s never tired or short of it! May it always be said concerning us: “This was the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes” (Psa.118:23; Mk.12:11).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
