“Happy are the people who are in such a state; happy are the people whose God is the LORD!” – Psalm 144:15
Certain portions of Scripture capture GOD’S PROMISES to HIS PEOPLE: “…happy are the people whose God is the LORD!” (Psa.144:15b). In the Old Testament, Israel was God’s people; while in the New, Believers in Jesus Christ are. In both testaments, some promises are meant for the generality of humanity, but most are targeted at God’s people: those who have opened the doors of their hearts to Him: “Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2Cor.6:17-18).
Here are five Powerful Promises of God directed to His people:
God promises to hear our prayers and heal our lands: “If MY PEOPLE who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2Chr.7:14).
God promises to fight for us. In possessing Canaan, Israel faced many battles against heathen nations. But Moses expressed the Lord's commitment to fight for Israel: “The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes” (Deut.1:30). God had moved mightily to deliver them from Egypt. Now, Moses affirmed that God will act again for them. The Lord later encouraged Joshua: “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Jos.1:5).
Under Joshua's leadership, many nations engaged God’s people in battle, but failed, because of His promise. When facing the certainty of battles, there is nothing greater than having God fighting on your side. Joshua often testified to God’s faithful promises. “All these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel” (Jos.10:42). We as Believers and good soldiers of Christ are engaged in spiritual warfare (2Tim.2:3). We must understand that: “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds” (2Cor.10:4). His promises are part of our spiritual weaponry, by which we can stand victorious in battle, just as Paul did (Acts 18:9-11).
God promises to strengthen us with peace and power: “The LORD will give strength to HIS PEOPLE; the LORD will bless HIS PEOPLE with peace” (Psa.29:11). Psalm 68:35b says: “The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to HIS PEOPLE. Blessed be God.” (Psa.68:35). Peace and Quietness are our portions: “MY PEOPLE will dwell in a peaceable habitation, in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places” (Isa.32:18).
God takes pleasure in us: “For the LORD takes pleasure IN HIS PEOPLE; He will beautify the humble with salvation” (Psa.149:4). That’s why He “pleads the cause of His people” (Isa.51:22a). He says further: “I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in MY PEOPLE; the voice of weeping shall be no longer be heard in her, nor the voice of crying…They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat: for as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of MY PEOPLE, and My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands” (Isa.65:19,22). These are my portions as God’s Elect!
God promises to restore and satisfy us: “And I will satiate the soul of the priests with abundance, and MY PEOPLE shall be satisfied with My goodness…” (Jer.31:14). In response to our repentance, God says: “So I will restore to you the years…You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and MY PEOPLE shall never be ashamed” (Joel 2: 25-26).
God is committed to “His people and the sheep of His pasture” (Psa.100:3). Are you among His people?

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
