Psalm 112: 1-10

Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments” Psalm 112:1

Without an iota of doubt, GOD”S WORD IS FULL of BLESSINGS:Praise the Lord! BLESSED is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments” (Psa.112:1). It takes delighting in God’s commandments – His Word – and having the reverential fear of the Lord to unlock the abundance of blessings in His Word. The first nine verses of Psalm 112 describe the Blessings of Obedience to God’s Word, while the last verse highlights the emptiness of sin and the destruction of the wicked. Blessings and true riches are laid up for the faithful and their children's children (vv.2-3). Moreover, in the darkest hours of trials, the light of hope and peace will spring up within them, and seasonable relief shall turn mourning into joy (v4). They need not fear evil tidings, because trusting in God’s Word guarantees a settled spirit, stable heart, and a mind stayed on God (v.6-8).

God’s Word is the Fountain of Revelation and path to the blessed life and decorated destiny. Studying, meditating on, and applying Scripture lead to blessings: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he MEDITATES day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper (Psa.1:1-3). While calling Joshua, God again revealed the Prosperity-producing Power of Word-Meditation: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall MEDITATE in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Jos.1:8).

The Bible is more than just a book to decorate the shelf or one to be placed underneath the pillow, like a talisman! God’s Word is meant to be received (through reading, hearing, studying) and meditated upon, in order to release the loads of Blessings within it. To meditate does not mean to put one’s mind in neutral. Rather, meditation is serious contemplation and thinking about something. To meditate is to read a verse or few verses, think about what it means, and ask how it could be applied to life. Doing this is like planting deep roots into the ground. Such a person wouldn’t get blown over when troubles come. God’s blessing is hidden in His Word: But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be BLESSED in what he does” (Jam.1:25). Whoever wants God’s blessing must devote to study and meditate in His Word!

God will never experience a dearth of blessings: Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!” (Psa.68:19). The word ‘loads’ here depicts heaping in excess. God supplies to us His blessings daily and in excess, more than we can handle. He just doesn’t give us to survive, but He supplies in excess because that is His way of doing things: “His mercies are new every morning” (Lam.3:23).

The benefits God loads into our lives are hid from the understanding of those who are outside His reign: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1Cor.2: 9). Only as we have faith in Him can we see and acknowledge these benefits. Whoever desires the sure Blessings of God should be committed to meditation in His Word: looking intently at the Word and obeying what it teaches to do.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
