Bible Meditation:
Genesis 1: 1-8

Then GOD SAID, “Let there be LIGHT”; and there was light – Genesis 1:3

The Work of Creation began with GOD’S WORD of LIGHT: Then GOD SAID, “Let there be LIGHT”; and there was LIGHT. And God saw the LIGHT, that it was good; and God divided the LIGHT from the darkness. God called the LIGHT Day, and the darkness He called Night (Gen.1:3-5a). Five mentions of “Light” in less than three verses of scripture! These were God’s first recorded words in the Bible! The Genesis of Creation was therefore all about LIGHT! The Gospel of John – the New Testament’s Book of Beginnings – follows a similar pattern: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was LIFE, and the LIFE was the LIGHT of men. And the LIGHT shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it (Jh.1:1-5). Here, we have the intricate connection between Life and Light!

GOD never struggles to initiate, begin, or commence anything. He simply speaks: Where the word of a king is, there is power; and who may say to him, “What are you doing?” (Ecc.8:4). What He does is to send His WORD of LIFE and LIGHT ahead of His Plans and programmes, and things take shape! This is not mere theory. As we proceed in the revelation of God’s Word the rest of this first Month, we shall be established in the Truth that GOD always BEGINS with HIS WORD! This is an eternal principle. In particular, God often precedes His Acts, Deeds, and Works with the WORD of LIGHT! Light is like the ‘Genesis’ of Genesis. If God typically begins with Light; we do well to follow suit! Wisdom demands that every New Beginning in our lives – new day, week, years, and season – be preceded by the WORD of LIGHT.

God typically speaks before He acts! He then watches over His Word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:12 AMP says: “You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over MY WORD to perform it.” The KJV says, “For I will hasten my word to perform it.” The NKJV says, “For I am ready to perform My Word.” God, Himself, stands over and watches over His Word, making sure it is fulfilled. Luke 1:37b AMP says, “No word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfilment.” If God speaks something it WILL come to pass! God’s Word accomplishes that which He pleases and purposes, and it prospers in the thing for which He sent it (Isa.55:11). His Word will never pass away (Isa.40:8).

The Psalmist knew God’s Word as his LIGHT for LIFE: “YOUR WORD is a lamp to my feet and a LIGHT to MY PATH” (Psa.119:105). So did Wise Solomon: “But the PATH of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day” (Pro. 4:18). God’s Word must also be the Believer’s Light for Life – the Light to Life’s Path; the Light that illuminates Destiny’s pathway! The term “path” describes the believer’s trail through life – choices, decisions, actions, and moves in the course of life. God leads us in His Ways of Wisdom, “in right paths” (v.11), wherein our “steps will not be hindered” and we shall not stumble (Pro.4: 11-12). His Word of Light secures our steps in life.

Prayer:
Lord, in this New Beginning, let YOUR WORD of LIGHT be released to secure our steps in life and illuminate our pathways in destiny, in Jesus’ name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
