John 17: 9-19

“Sanctify them by Your truth; YOUR WORD IS TRUTH” – John 17:17

The Believer’s stands and thrives on the conviction that GOD’S WORD IS TRUTH: “Sanctify them by Your truth; YOUR WORD IS TRUTH” (Jh.17:17). Close to His crucifixion, the Lord Jesus prayed to the Father for His beloved disciples, that they be sanctified by the truth – set apart and made holy unto Him as a consecrated and hallowed people. John wrote concerning Jesus: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the one begotten of the Father, full of grace and TRUTH” (Jh.1:14). The Word who became flesh later introduced Himself as: “…the way and the TRUTH and the life….” (Jh.14:6a).  God’s Word is not only true; the Sum of His Word is Truth: “The entirety of Your word is truth…” (Psa.119:160a). Truth in Totality!

The Word of Truth brings us into salvation: “Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth…” (Jam.1:18). The same Word is central to our life-long processes of sanctification, equipping, and edification: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the WORD of TRUTH” (2Tim.2:15). As we meditate on the truth of God’s Word, study it, hold its precious truth in our hearts and trust our heavenly Father to complete the good work that He has started in us, we’ll witness the cleansing power of Scripture within, to set us apart, and conform us to the Image of the Lord Jesus (Rom.8:29).

Practical Christianity consists in knowing and walking in the Truth: “For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you WALK in the TRUTH. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children WALK IN TRUTH” (3 Jh.3-4). We receive Christ by believing and accepting God’s Word in the Gospel message. We also receive the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of Truth – through the Word of Truth (Jh.14:17; 15:26). Moreover, our liberty in the Spirit comes from applied knowledge of the truth: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (Jh.8:32). In contrast, the devil “does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (Jh.4:44b).

People easily yield to demonic influences and attacks when they accept, believe and act upon lies. When Satan entices them with lies, he gains access into their lives and continues to influence them negatively, causing them to misbehave. As we learn to live by God’s Word, and judge everything with the truth of the Word, we’re able to stand against satanic influences and manipulations. We can identify Truth by certain virtues. Truth blesses and uplifts. Truth brings growth, fills us with love, and makes us walk and talk like Christ! Truth promotes us and those who are with us. Truth brings order, not confusion, and it carries no hate or bitterness with it.

Truth is Light! The “Word of Truth” means “the word of reality” or the “word of true essence.” Standing on the Word implies that my life is not a lie. Mine is not a meaningless life. I am born of God’s true essence. There’s a purpose for my life. Jesus said: “…For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth….” (Jh.18:37). Pilate had to ask Him, “What is truth?” The world doesn’t know truth. The world is full of shadows. Many people spend entire lifetimes seeking in vain for their true reason for being! Even Solomon, in all of his wisdom, couldn’t discover truth. He said, “…vanity of vanities…all is vanity” (Ecc.1:2). But Jesus, the “greater than Solomon” is Truth personified (Lk.11:31; Jh.14:6). Whoever knows Him – the incarnate Word of God – has encountered the Truth that propels unfolding stories of Glory!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
