1 Peter 5: 1-10

“Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you” – 1 Peter 5:7

Every Believer can rest assured on GOD’S WORDS of CARE: “Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you” (1Pet.5:7). God cares about all of His creation, especially His redeemed. He cares about all that concerns us: our families, spouses, children, and parents. He cares about our career, jobs, callings or vocation. He cares about our finances, provisions, and possessions – food, clothing, houses, cars, and luxuries. He cares about our anxieties, fears, and worries. He also cares about our character, spiritual development, and all-round growth. He even cares about us caring about Him and caring for others. There is no care of ours that God does not care about. If it is important to us, then God cares about it.

Our Father is a compassionate and caring God: “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will(Mt.10:29). We cannot out-care Him. His capacity to care is unlimited and His competence to care is unparalleled. Christ is our number one Caregiver. He says: “do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? (Mt.6:25). He cares enough to bear our anxieties and replace them with His peace and presence. We do not have to wait until matters get dire before we off load on the Lord. We must always turn to Him first, because He cares the most.

Knowing that God cares immensely, how do we cast our cares on Him? By faith and faith only! By faith we let Him care. He cares and can be trusted. Therefore, all we need do is allow Him to do what He does best. We allow Him to care for us. This takes humility on our part because the natural human tendency is to feign independence and present a false façade of self-sufficiency. To submit to God’s care is to acknowledge our desperate need for Him. Our declaration of dependence is two-fold. First, is admitting that we are anxious, and can’t handle our worry alone. Secondly, we submit to the fact that only God can handle what concerns us. Hence, our submission to God allows His care to consume our anxieties and worries.

As we learn to cast our cares, over time, God helps bring our feeble faith and divided mind into focus on Him. What started as a burden, He gradually transforms into a blessing. Our pain becomes productive. In giving Him our worries, we in turn, receive His calming presence. God transforms our cares into what He cares about. He never will leave us or forsake us (Heb. 13:5). We may go through difficult times or make errors of judgement. We may endure trials and tests, but through it all, God will strengthen us and teach us new truths. He is with us in every situation we face. He loves us. Through Jesus, we can come to God anytime and anywhere, and without hesitation cast all our cares on Him, “because He caresfor us!

There is no reason to ever be dismayed by any circumstance. No matter what challenges we face, we can be confident that God will take care of us. He is with us, by our side, in every situation we face. The Creator of the universe has abundant supply of every resource. We can trust Him for our finances and health, business, job, and family. God will always take care of His own through the tough times and dangers. He will provide all we need, and nothing we ask will be denied. In casting our cares unto God, we become free to care for others as He has freely cares for us. The more we allow Him to care, the less we have to care. Then we can focus our care on people and eternal issues, and lead others to our all-caring Christ.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
