This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that GOD IS LIGHT and in Him is no darkness at all – 1 John 1:5
We’ve begun to explore the mysteries of light from both natural and spiritual perspectives: that light is a tangible reality, has form, and is powerful, impactful, dynamic, and varied in manifestations. Is light then a mere force or energy in creation? Suddenly, we encounter the truth that “GOD IS LIGHT” and a new perspective of revelation seems to emerge!
GOD is LIGHT! Does this infer that Light constitutes God’s Being? Very unlikely! Such line of thinking could lead to philosophical sacrileges such as saying, “Light is God”! God is a PERSON! He is not a Thing, Energy, Principle or Force. The phrase “God is Light” should be understood in the same sense that we understand other statements about God such as: God is Love (1Jh.4:8,16); God is a Spirit (Jh.4:24); and God is a consuming fire (Heb.12:29). It is in the same sense that JESUS is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, or the Door (Jh.10:9; 14:6).
These expressions do not negate the reality and personality of God and Christ. Rather, they describe aspects of God’s infinite and unfathomable Nature. Indeed, the emphasis in 1John 1:5 is not only that “God is light”, but also that “in Him is no darkness at all.” God as Source of knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and truth cannot have the least degree of darkness, ignorance, and imperfection. Light relates to Righteousness and Truth, while darkness is linked to Sin and Deceit.
Light is not God. God is a Person and He dwells in Light that no man can approach unto; whom no one has seen in all His glory nor can see (1Tim.6:16). Light does not constitute His Being. Light simply describes His Nature – holy, righteous, true, transparent, perfect, pure, but also dynamic, energizing, impactful, and powerful. Revelation that does not provoke positive action and obedience is hollow and vain. Here is the essence of this message: If we must fellowship with Him, we cannot afford to walk in the darkness of sin and deceit; we must “WALK IN THE LIGHT, as He is in the Light” (1Jh.1:6-7a).

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
