Psalm 139: 1-18

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb” – Psalm 139:13

GOD PERFECTS DESTINIES from the WOMB! Psalm 139 illustrates His design and detailing of David’s destiny, right from the mother’s womb: “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them” (Psa.139:13-16). Divine Perfections cover our lifespans – from the womb to the twilight of life. The Lord will perfect that which concerns us, commencing from the womb!

The Psalmist mused on the Womb Phase of Divine Perfections: “By You I have been upheld from my birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s WOMB. My praise shall be continually of You” (Psa.71:6). The translation from his mother's womb to the light of day was an object of praise: “But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts. I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God” (Psa.22:9-10). The preservation of the embryo in its narrow confines is an undisputable miracle. What a marvel that the embryo, shut up within its mother's womb, can live in such a condition as would suffocate the toughest of men! But we often make little account of God’s miracles due to our familiarity with them.

God is at work in every womb! His agenda of perfecting destinies precedes conception or birth. Before David could understand the power which preserved him, he was sustained by it. God knew me before I knew anything. Birth is a mystery of mercy, as God is with both mother and baby. Even before conscious life, God’s care is over His chosen. Holy women do well to praise God for His mercy over them in nature's perilous hour. Praise should be continually of the Lord, whose goodness is unceasing. God is the ‘circle’ where praise should commence, continue, and endlessly revolve; for in Him we live, and move, and have our being (Acts 17:28a).

God revealed to Jeremiah: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jer.1:5). God designed and detailed Jeremiah’s destiny prior to his being formed in the mother’s womb. The Lord of life knew Jeremiah. He had biological parents, but God Himself formed, fashioned, and knit him together in the womb. God set him apart and appointed him as a prophet to the nations, long before he drew his first breath or shed his first tear. To set something apart is to sanctify it or to dedicate it to holy service. While Jeremiah was being carried around in his mother’s womb, God was making preparations for his salvation and ministry. Long before he was born, God chose him and consecrated him for ministry.

Birth is not our beginning. Neither is conception our real beginning. In some ineffable way, God has a personal knowledge of the individual preceding conception. This is the divine pattern, not an exception to the rule. God’s choice was not unique to Jeremiah; it is true for every believer: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ…He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love” (Eph.1:3-4). God not only knows you, He chose you long before you were ever conceived. Paul confirmed this: “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s WOMB and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood” (Gal.1:15-16). The Lord be praised, who began to perfect my destiny from the Womb!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
