2 Samuel 5:17-25

By AWESOME DEEDS in righteousness YOU WILL ANSWER US, O God of our salvation; You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of the far-off seas; – Psalm 65:5

Our Father is a prayer-answering God. He gives remarkable attention to our prayers; never automated responses. He never leaves our prayers unanswered or unattended. Hs Word says: Then you shall call, and the LORD WILL ANSWER; you shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am’…” (Isa.58:9a). He says in Isaiah 65:24, “It shall come to pass that before they call, I WILL ANSWER; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Again, God throws the challenge: “Call to Me, and I WILL ANSWER you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jer.33:3).

God assures those who trust in Him: He shall call upon me, and I WILL ANSWER him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him” (Psa.91:15). God does not only hear, hearken, and attend to our prayers, He ANSWERS PRAYERS. Truly we can say with the psalmist, “Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me” (Psa.66: 20). At all times, even in our hours of deepest need, God attends to our words; He answers our prayers!

The attitude of inquiring from God for answers paid off greatly for David. 2 Samuel 5 records how he fought two battles with the Philistines, for which God gave him two different answers. One was at Baal Perazim; the other at the Valley of Rephaim. In the first, God won the battle solely by His power – the Lord broke through (2Sam.5:20). For the other, God gave David an action plan, which when he implemented, gave Israel the victory (vv.23-25). The same God, same adversary, two answers. The reality of life is that there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Each day we face challenges for which we need to consult God.

When trouble comes, we could panic, plan or do what David did – inquire of the Lord (v.19). Our first step should always be to consult God. As He guides us, we develop confidence in Him. Then, whether the Victory comes through His miraculous intervention or through His guidance, all the glory goes to God. Beyond answering our prayers, the Father’s ultimate will is that our prayers become the avenue to a deeper relationship with Him; and that we become ANSWERS to our world and solutions to our generation.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
