Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I WILL DELIVER YOU, and you shall glorify Me – Psalm 50:15
Yesterday we meditated on the promise of God to rescue swiftly. To be rescued also means “to be delivered.” Deliverance means “to be set free from whatever is chaining you down or holding you in bondage.” When you are delivered, you won't have to deal with the negative, hindering or limiting forces that kept you bound hitherto. A deliverer is one who sets free or saves another from a difficult situation, and that’s whom God is. Today we meditate on four kinds of people God delivers:
The LORD delivers the Godly: from dangers, trials and tribulations, and brings them into triumph (2 Pet.2:9). He also knows how to reserve the wicked for Judgment. We need not despair even if we don’t know the timing or means of escape from troubles (1Cor. 10:13). We must simply learn to commit all to God who has promised to bring the godly out of heaviness and trials (Psa. 34:19).
The LORD delivers those who love Him (Psa. 91:14-16). He hears our cry and swiftly comes to our rescue. He will deliver us and satisfy us with long life. He will be with us when we face troubles and difficulties. He will not leave us or forsake us in our hour of need.
The LORD delivers His Servants – those whom He has chosen and anointed for service (Psa. 18:50). When we are in the place where God has positioned us to serve Him, we will have His backing and protection whatever may come. God will not leave us alone to face the battles when we are in the centre of His will. He promises to deliver all whom He has chosen for His own purpose and pleasure.
The LORD delivers those who call upon Him (Psa. 50:15). We should call upon God at all times, especially in the day of trouble (Rom. 10:9-13). People often run to family members or friends in times of trouble only to get disappointed. Only after they have failed to get any help from others that they go to the Lord for their last resort. We must call on the Lord FIRST in our hour of need because He is our faithful friend in need (Prov. 18:24; Psa. 107:6).
Psalm 71 assures that the Lord delivers those who fear and trust Him all through their lives. God is concerned about your physical deliverance but is all the more concerned about your spiritual deliverance – the salvation of your soul from Hell and eternal damnation. As you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, humble yourself under His mighty hand, trust Him, and call upon Him, He will hear you and deliver you completely – for all of time and eternity!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
