Psalm 121: 1-8

I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my HELP. My HELP comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth – Psalm 121:1-2

Psalm 121 is one of the classical texts on Divine Help. I used to think that the Psalmist meant “I will lift up my eyes to the hills, because my help comes from the hills,” until I caught a unique revelation. Yes, “I will lift my eyes to the hills, I will LOOK UP as I ask the question: Where does my help come from?” The answer comes in the next verse: “My help comes from the Lord,” not from the hills. My help comes from the LORD who made more than the hills and the mountains; the Lord who made heaven and earth.

I used to think that my help comes from the hills. Now I know that my help comes from the Lord, Who is far above the hills! The Lord, not the hills, is my Source of Help! The ‘hills’ simply implies that my help does not come from the valley or from men, but from the Lord – from His Throne of Grace and Mercy (Heb.4:16). My help comes from ON HIGH! There is nothing mysterious about the hills to supply me help. The Lord, not the hills, is the Mystery behind my Help!

Psalm 121 is actually a conversation between the Psalmist and His God. Verse 1 expressed his spiritual stance, posture in prayer and question. In verse 2 he confessed the revelation of God as his Help. From verse 3, God Himself began to reassure the Psalmist on the nature of divine help: “God, from whom your help comes, will not allow your foot to falter; He who keeps you will neither slumber nor sleep...” Here is my picture of what happened: The Psalmist recognized God as his Help, and God manifested Himself. The most profound way in which God manifests Himself is by His Word!

God began to tell him: “I am here. I have always been here. I am your Help, and NOW I WILL HELP YOU. As you receive my Word and as you believe it; then all that my Word declares will come to pass.” The LORD is saying the same to you today. God has proved to be my Help in times of dire need, and people may say “You were lucky”! I pray that what people call ‘luck’, which is actually ‘Divine Help’ will be your portion in Jesus name.

Prayer:
Lord, as I lift up my eyes to Your throne of Grace on High, let Divine Help be my perpetual portion in Jesus’ Name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
