Bible Meditation:
Psalm 146: 1-9

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; GOD SHALL HELP HER, just at the break of dawn – Psalm 46:5 (NKJV)

Psalms 46 and 146 dwell on the theme of Divine Help – the timeliness and might God’s Help. Let’s meditate on both today.

Psalm 46 portrays a picture of confusion, turmoil, chaos, and scattered existence, but also a certainty of Divine Presence and Divine Help. Though everything around may be troubled and circumstances chaotic, there is something that is never troubled. There is a River that is ever peaceful and tranquil; that remains unshaken and unperturbed. This river flows from ZION – the City of the Lord, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High God. God is in the midst of that city and her river; hence Zion cannot be shaken, moved, or troubled. Zion and her dwellers cannot be part of the chaos and confusion.

Psalm 46:5 says “…she shall not be moved.” Why? “GOD SHALL HELP her, and that right early.” God shall HELP her; that’s why she shall not be moved! If you believe, God will help you mightily in this season of Grace and Goodness!

Psalm 146 depicts the Diversity of DIVINE HELP and cautions on the Vanity of HUMAN HELP. Divine Help comes in diverse ways, including: Justice for the oppressed; food to the hungry; freedom to the prisoners; sight to the blind; encouragement to the depressed; shelter, preservation, and protection to the vulnerable, such as the homeless, refugees, immigrants, orphans and widows (Psa.146: 7-9). Little wonder, the Lord Jesus reiterated these as key aspects of His Ministry (Lk.4:18).

The Vanity of Human Help: “Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is NO HELP” (Psa.146:3). Human help is very limited, and could be futile, useless, and worthless. Twice, the Psalmist was recorded as praying: Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man” (Psa.60:11; 108:12). Never forget: Jehovah is your Very Present Help at all times. Let you soul wait on Him, He is your Help and your Shield (Psa.33:20). He will help you surely. He will help you in all ways!

Prayer:
Lord, let me never have cause to stray from Zion in search of vain human help; manifest the diversity of Divine Help for all dimensions of my life and destiny, in Jesus’ Name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
