Bible Meditation:
Psalm 77: 1-20

“You are the GOD who does WONDERS; You have declared Your strength among the peoples” – Psalm 77:14

GOD is a WONDER and He does great wonders – including turning His chosen ones into wonders: “I have become a wonder to many, but You are my strong refuge” (Psa.71:7). God is a Wonder in how He balances His Greatness and Grandeur with His Simplicity and Humility – manifesting the mystery of His Deity and humanity. The Psalmist pondered: “The LORD is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens, Who is like the LORD our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth?” (Psa.113:4-6). He left His throne to reach out to the lowly and hurting humanity.

God is a Wonder in His size. He is so big that the heaven and the heavens of heaven cannot contain Him (1Kgs.8:27). Yet, we know that Heaven is His throne and the earth is His footstool: “Thus says the LORD: “Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?” (Isa.66:1). This means that as He sits in Heaven His legs touch the earth (Isa.66:1). The Bible also describes His arms: “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’” (Dt.32:27). His arms are everlasting and infinite that they can reach any distance and touch the remotest of places; and so wide and strong they can bear the heaviest of burdens!

How can my imagination ever capture the reality that the God of unfathomable size became small enough to reside in Mary’s womb and now resides inside of me and every other believer on earth, without ever diminishing in His essence? 1 John 4:4 declares: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater that he who is in the world.” God is indeed an awesome Wonder. As lofty as He is, He still reaches down to those who are lowly placed or have a heart of humility. From the height of heights, the Most High God is able to see those who are of a contrite and humble spirit, and relate with them while disregarding the proud. Men would allow there privileged positions to distance them from those who are less fortunate, but not God.

God is a Wonder in how He manifests both as Love and as a consuming fire: “He who does not love does not know God, for GOD is LOVE (1Jh.4:8). That God is Love motivates us to draw near and embrace Him. But we also know that: “our God is a consuming fire” (Heb.12:29). How enthusiastically would you want to embrace a consuming fire? Ironically, the same fire that consumes the agencies and works of darkness also refines souls, purifies hearts, and renews minds to manifest righteousness. Hear the Wonder Himself speak: “For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits, whose name His Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” (Isa.57:15).

These wonderful attributes of God should motivate us to become People of Wonders. As followers of Christ, privileged status should not hinder us from reaching out to the disadvantaged and vulnerable. Let’s follow the footsteps of the Wonder Who left His heavenly throne and became a Man: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men” (Phil.2:5-7). The Master became the servant! God came in the flesh – “in the likeness of men”! Oh, the wonder of the Incarnation! The God Who is a Wonder will perform wonders in our lives, transform us into wonders, and cause us to testify of His wonder-working power, in Jesus’ name!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
