HEALING

And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and HEALED them all – Luke 6:19

HEALING is in the Redemption package, but you must press in to possess your possessions. Even though it is God’s will to heal us every time we are sick, His perfect plan is for us to live in divine health (3Jh.2). Just as it is not God’s will that we be saved over and over again, but that we remain spiritually well, His desire is that we “be in health”. His covenant emphasizes both healing and divine health (Exo.15:23-24; 23:25; Dt.7:15, 34:7; Jos.14:10-11; Ps.105:37). The age of miracles has not passed, and physical healing is part of Christ’s ministry today! Here are seven reasons why you can expect to receive miracle Healing:  

1. God is a Healer, and He has never changed: “…For I am the Lord who heals you” (Ex.15:26b).
2. Christ died to atone for sicknesses as well as for sins: Healing was pre-figured and prophesied in the atonement (Is.53:4-5). Healing is the children’s bread; we don’t need to beg for it (Mk.7:27).
3. Jesus healed the sick, and He remains the same: “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38). Sickness resulted from Satan’s work, when he introduced sin into this world. Now, Christ heals to destroy Satan’s works (1Jh.3:8). He healed and heals because of compassion (Mt.14:14, 20:34). He heals to reveal the Father’s glory (Mt.15:30-31). And He heals to confirm His Mission to the world (Jh.10:37-38).
4. Jesus commanded His disciples to heal the sick: “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (Mt.10:8). The Holy Spirit Who did all of Christ’s miracles and raised Him from the dead is still in the Church with all of His life-giving and healing power.
5. Miracles of healing manifested in the early Church (Acts 3:6-7): The book of Acts, with irrefutable records of dominon over demons and diseases, is the pattern for the modern church. It is not a mere historical record. God will continue to confirm iHis Word and give proof of the resurrection of His SonHHis Word and give proof of the resurrection of His Son even in these days of universal unbelief.
6. Jesus commissioned all believers to lay hands on the sick for healing, as part of Christ’s Great Commission: “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons… they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mk.16:17-18). James 5:14 is a more direct command: “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”
7. Healing is God’s marvelous promise, fulfilled through the exercise of our own faith. Christ heals today because: it is His nature to heal; and it is His purpose to destroy the works of the devil; so that those healed can serve Him better.

In order to appropriate your healing, you need to:

• Know God’s scriptural promises to heal and be convinced that they are for you personally and for your whole person.

• Understand that God wants you to be well: It is Satan that wants you to suffer afflictions and be sick (Job 2:7).

• Understand that physical healing is a part of salvation: the Saviour is also the Healer (Ps.103:3).

• Repent of Unconfessed sins, receive and release forgiveness (1 Jh.1:9; Mt.18:23-25).

• Ask the Lord to heal you according to His promises. Believe that He hears; He does not enjoy seeing you suffer (Ps.103:13).

• Exercise Faith: Believe when you pray that you have received what you asked for. Speak words of faith: Jesus gave you authority to heal and be healed, therefore speak to and command the part of your body that needs healing, in Jesus name!

• Praise the Lord for answered prayers and act on His promise. Abraham “gave glory to God” before the answer was manifested (Rom.4:20).
