Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood – Genesis 10: 1
To the casual reader devoid of divine revelation, these seemingly endless lists of genealogies with some ‘tongue-twisting’ names would appear purposeless. That would be a very wrong view to hold! God is a RECORD-KEEPER, and to diligent students of Scriptures and Believers in Christ, here we have a glimpse into very important records pertaining to the generations of humanity. These lists of genealogies are important on diverse levels. They show us that God is concerned about not only the entire humanity, generations of human beings, nations and tribes, but also the individual. He who knit us in our mother’s womb knows every individual’s Name, Family, Day of Birth and Day of Death (Psalm 139).
In these lists, we see our ORIGINS – where we came from. Genesis 10:5 and 20 refer to divisions according to lands, tongues, families, countries and nations. In these lists we see the origins of kingdoms (vs.10) and the NATIONS – in racial, historical and geographical terms. We read of the building of CITIES, great cities (vs.11-12), and migrations (vs.18). Acts 17:26 (NIV) declares, “From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their APPOINTED TIMES in HISTORY and the BOUNDARIES of their lands.”
These records reassure us that we are not incidentals in creation or accidents of procreation. We are not mistakes that were made and left to happen. Our place in history and our geographical location are not by chance, but by divine design. God knows you by NAME. He knows the number of every hair on your head (Mt.10:30). He knows when you awake and when you fall sleep. He knows your deepest thoughts. He brought you forth at your TIME, in your PLACE and for your PURPOSE. You have a place in His unfolding Story and a File in His Records! Above all, when we relate this passage to the genealogy in Luke 3: 23-38, we see how God’s promise to Adam and Eve back in the Garden of Eden was painstakingly preserved down through history, until its fulfilment in the One who came from his mother’s womb both fully man and fully God – the Incarnate Son of God – our Lord Jesus Christ. History is simply HIS STORY!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
