Romans 8: 28-39

“Yet in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through Him who loved us– Romans 8:37

In Christ, I AM MORE THAN CONQUEROR: “Yet in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,  nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord(Rom.8:37-39). To be “more than a conqueror” is to be overwhelmingly victorious. It’s a scenario in which, though the opposition puts up a fight, they are no match for the victors. The win is beyond the scope of a regular victory. We not only overcome, but become better off and stronger for it!

God, many times, brought miraculous victory to His people, Israel although, humanly speaking, they were no match for their enemies. He cautioned them not to be afraid; that He would fight their battles for them: “The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exo.14:14). In 2 Kings 7, an entire army fled their own camp when God caused them to hear the sounds of a great army coming. The famine-racked Israelites were able to plunder the enemy camp and provide for their families through no act of their own. Not only were they saved from an approaching army, but as “more than conquerors,” they actually benefited from the threat. God still turns the table against the enemies!

Satan our adversary sends all kinds of life-defeating, joy-stealing attacks to threaten our well-being and faith in God, namely: tribulation or trouble, distress or hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, and sword (vv.35-39). As more than conqueror in Christ, we have complete, overwhelming Victory and triumph over them, on the basis of God’s demonstrated love! Paul encourages us to stand firm in our faith when those attacks come, knowing that Victory is guaranteed now and eternally. Satan lacks the power to steal our eternal destiny, and he cannot separate us from the love of God right now. Nothing we face worries God in the least. If we are His children through faith in His Son, then we have His pledge of love and protection. Listening to the Shepherd’s voice, we shall never be snatched out of the Father’s hand (Jh.10:27-29).

We are Conquerors, not only over sin and Satan, but over the world and its afflictions, troubles, and trials. To be more than conquerors means we face the trials of life with the certainty that we are not alone. We have a mighty Father who fights for us. We approach the darkest valleys with confidence, knowing that nothing can happen to us that is not permitted by our loving Father for our good (Psa.23:4). We are “more” because we can glory in the struggles and persecutions knowing that our faith and joy will increase as a result! By the blood of Jesus Christ we already have the victory, but we experience even more victory when God turns uses the tough times, turning them around for His purpose and for our good: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose(v.28).

I have eternal life (Jh.3:16; Tit.1:2; 1Jhn.5:11). I have the promise of God’s perpetual Presence until I see Him face-to-face (Dt.31:8; Mt.28:20; Heb.13:5). The merit of Christ’s death takes the sting out of all worldly trials, while the Spirit of His grace strengthens, comforts, and enables me to face life with holy courage and constancy. No attempt of the enemy can steal God’s loving care from my life. Therefore, I am more than conqueror, not in my own strength, but through the love of Christ – the Eternal Victor and Ultimate Conqueror. He has overcome the world for me, and I can be of good cheer (Jh.6:33).

Beloved, we have the Victory: “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1Cor.15:57). May this revelation always direct our thoughts, words, and actions, in Jesus Name!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
