IDENTITY FOR DOMINION

Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “ALL AUTHORITY has been given to Me in heaven and on earth – Matthew 28:18

The believer who understands that the power of God is backing him or her can exercise that authority and bring the enemy to the dust. Authority doesn’t depend on an affluent background, great heights of education, flamboyant titles, or special positions in the church or in any other organization. Authority doesn’t derive from denominational doctrines, traditions or culture. Our Authority comes through Identity with the Owner of ALL Authority – JESUS!

Authority is undergirded by IDENTITY – knowing who you are IN CHRIST, what He has done, what He has given you, and where He has positioned you. Godly and biblical authority is bestowed on you through faith in God and His Word, and intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit. In the Spirit you have the authority to command things to change or to move. Authority to exercise dominion is not about your natural ability for performance. It operates when you know who you are in Christ; when you are certain and confident of your Identity in Him – in His death, resurrection, and glorification!

The world often identifies individuals by what they do; God identifies us by what His Son Jesus has already done. In Christ, we are sons of the Most High God (Jh.1:12). We are new creations (2Cor.5:17). We are Christ’s ambassadors on earth (2Cor.5:20). We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2Cor.5:21). We are joint heirs with Jesus (Rom.8:17). We are more than conquerors through Him who loves us (Rom.8:37). We are accepted in the Beloved (Eph.1:6). We are seated together with Him in heavenly places (Eph.2:6). We are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Eph.6:10). We are a holy nation and a royal priesthood (1Pet.2:9). We are destined to be eternal Overcomers (Rev.12:11).

Dominion is demonstrated as I activate my authority by faith, and enforce it with the Word of God. According to His Word, I have authority, deriving from the Authority of Jesus. I have authority over sin. I have authority over the devil and all the powers of darkness. I have authority over sickness and disease. I have authority over poverty and penury. I have authority over discouragement and depression. I am fruitful, productive, and multiplying in the very nature of God. I am replenishing and enriching the earth in partnership with Jesus. I am subduing the earth, keeping the devil and all his negativities under my feet. I have dominion over adverse circumstances and situations. I rule and reign with Christ, in dominion.
