Bible Meditation:
Psalm 119: 9-18

“OPEN MY EYES, that I may SEE Wondrous things from Your law” – Psalm 119:18

It takes spiritual Open Eyes to receive INSIGHT for IMPACT: “OPEN MY EYES, that I may SEE Wondrous things from Your law” (Psa.119:18). This cry of humility, dependence, and hunger that has been whispered by the faithful for generations, is a request for spiritual illumination – to discover, see, understand, and delight in the deep treasures of God’s Word; a prayer that leads into the very Heart of God. The Hebrew word for “open” conveys the idea of unveiling or uncovering. This implies that without divine help, the spiritual riches of Scripture remain hidden. It’s the Holy Spirit Who stirs our hearts to long for a deeper Insight into the Word and to live out its truths in our daily lives.

In Ephesians 1:17-18, Paul prayed for the “eyes of your understanding” to be enlightened, just like psalmist was asking for a vision beyond the surface, a revelation of God’s deeper truths. Without the right tools, a miner digging through layers of rock to find precious gems, would never uncover the treasures hidden beneath. Similarly, without God’s help, we can read Scripture but miss its beauty and depth. Charles Spurgeon said, “It is not the letter of the Word but the spirit of the Word that we need to see. Only the Spirit of God can reveal this to us.”

Although the Bible is no longer being written, in a sense, God continues to record history in the scrolls of heaven. We are part of the story that was begun in the pages of Scripture. The more we read and study Scripture, the more involved in the story we will become. Bible Study is one of the greatest adventures we will ever embark upon; one that draws us in and makes us part of the events. As we study the Bible, we’ll feel its impact on us, see and hear things no one has seen or imagined. Bible Study is no boring activity. It is a never-ending adventure.

God did not write the Bible to sit on a shelf, or so that only pastors would read it. God’s Word is for everyone on the face of this earth, and it deals either implicitly or explicitly with every single issue that humans have about the life’s most important questions. The Word contains answers to all of life’s challenges, difficulties and questions. The Bible contains some of the most valuable information ever put on the printed page. It has something to say to us every day, but Divine Insight is crucial for enduring Impact to follow.

God’s Word is filled with wonders – truths that guide, revive, and transform us. But these are only visible to those who approach Scripture with Faith and Humility. God’s Word illuminates our path, shows us the way to walk, and equips us to live in alignment with His Will: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psa.119:105).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
