“Where the WORD of a KING is, there is POWER; and who may say to him, “What are you doing?” – Ecclesiastes 8:4
Beloved, let’s rejoice in the LORD who has kept us alive and well into April, the Month of the KING’S WORDS of POWER: “Where the WORD of a KING is, there is POWER; and who may say to him, “What are you doing?” (Eccl.4:8). Within his Domain of Influence or Sphere of Dominion, no entity, barrier, blockage or obstacle can query, withstand, or overturn the king’s command! When kings were kings, there was no rule over the king, except God. The king had the last say over his people. The word of the king was the law of the land. No one could question the king. The only time anyone dared disobey the king’s rule was when it directly opposed God’s law, like the Egyptian midwives who feared and obeyed God (Exo.1:17).
If all of these were true of earthly kings, how about the Sovereign Ruler of the Universe? “For He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful” (Rev.17:14b). King Jesus sits with His Father on the Throne of the universe, and His Word stands fast eternally: “Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and UPHOLDING all things by the WORD of HIS POWER, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Heb.1:3). Everything in creation is UPHELD by the Word of His Power. He is the Anchor, Nucleus and Fulcrum of all things! Nothing in the Universe can stand without His Will and Command.
The King’s Word has power-in His Throne room – the very centre of His palace. The angels wait upon Him eternally, doing His bidding, “hearkening to the voice of His Word” (Psa.103:20b). The spirits of just men made perfect circle round Him, serving day and night in His temple, joyful to run the errands of the King! Throughout His vast dominions, Jesus Christ – the Eternal Word – exercises indisputable and irresistible influence. He sits supreme as “the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords” (1Tim.6:15). He ordains and orders all things. He holds the Sceptre firmly.
Even in His earth-walk, there was Power in His Word. He was King from cradle to grave. He summoned destinies to join His train with a simple “Follow Me” (Mt.4:19). Winds and waves hearkened to the Voice of the King of the elements, resting calmly at His rebuke (Mk.4:39). As King over diseases: longstanding disorders ceased at His command. As King over death: He cried “Lazarus, come forth,” and death ‘died’ (Jh.11:43). As King over Satan, though the devil bade Him fall at his feet and worship him, Christ conquered victoriously. The King over sin defeated the enemy of our souls, nailing it to the Cross!
The King’s Word has Power in His audience chamber where petitions, pleas, and prayers are heard from subjects of every name, race, gender, and degree. He answers all with undivided attention. Power resides in every of His Promise. He has never recalled one. He has never failed to fulfil one.
The King’s Word has Power in His banqueting hall (SoS. 3:4). The King loves to feast His saints. He rejoices when our meditation of Him is sweet (Psa.104:34). There is power in EVERY WORD He speaks, power in the Invitation He issues, and in the Welcome He offers: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Mt.11:28).
The King’s Word has Power on the battlefield: “The Lord is a Man of war; the Lord is His name” (Exo.15:3). His weapons, which are ours, too, are not carnal but spiritual (2Cor.10:4). The Sword – the Word of His Power – in His mouth strikes terror into the hearts of His foes. They flee at the sound of His battle cry. Sufficient Grace abounds whatever the King’s orders are. His Word is omnipotent, and we are omnipotent if we obey it! For, we who believe are ambassadors of His Great Power.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
