Bible Meditation:
Psalm 71: 5-18

By You I have been upheld from BIRTH; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. MY PRAISE shall be continually of You” – Psalm 71:6

Beloved, join me, LET’S WORSHIP OUR MAKER: “By You I have been UPHELD from BIRTH; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. MY PRAISE shall be continually of You. I have become as a WONDER to many, but You are my strong refuge” (Psa.71:6-7). God is worthy of Worship, for being our Maker, Author of our lives, and our Upholder and Sustainer from Birth. The New International Version Bible says: From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise you” (Psa.71:6, NIV). This is my personal testimony today as I mark Sixty-two years of exiting my mother’s womb!

The Passion Translation says: “It was you who supported me from the day I was born, loving me, helping me through my life’s journey. You’ve made me into a miracle; no wonder I trust you and praise You forever! Many marvel at my success, but I know it is all because of you, my mighty protector!” (Psa.71:6-7, TPT). Psalm 71 provides a unique opportunity to learn from the faith and life experiences of an elder psalmist, looking back over his life and faith experiences, perhaps from the context of current distress.

I testify to the Glory of God, my Creator, Maker, Shepherd, and Father, that He has supported my being, upheld me in life, sustained me and all mine with food and raiment, and followed with the mercies and blessings of life from birth to this present moment. God “took me out of my mother’s womb” (v.6b). He had been my Hope and Helper even before my substance was formed in the womb. He ensured that I was safely brought into the world, and preserved ever since; hence “My Praise shall be continually” of Him (v.6c).

It is God’s nature to provide deliverance, rescue, and refuge, to those whom He calls His own. In response, the totality of our lives should be invested in His Worship and Praise. This was the appropriate response to God’s Steadfastness and Grace, especially from King David, who had served God from his youth to his advanced years (1Sam.17:33-37; 1Kgs.2:1-3,10). There are Believers in David’s mold, who despite advancing years and “days of distress,” continue to praise and worship God to the best of their ability!

Though I am not too advanced in age, I fit into that mold. I testify with the Psalmist: “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb” (Psa.139:13). Blessings of Life begin with the Blessings of Conception and of Birth. The Lord Who made each of us unique, has sustained us from the womb, through birth, and promised to be there till the end: Thus says the Lord who MADE YOU and FORMED YOU from the womb, who will HELP YOU...Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone...” (Isa.44:2a,24a).

My Maker actually knew me before my mother’s womb did: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jer.1:5). Paul wrote: “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace” (Gal.1:15). God also assures: “Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb: Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isa.46:4).

The God who upholds the world is the One Who upheld me in my mother’s womb, and also sustains me in the world. Every new day is “the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psa.118:24). Let’s covenant to always Worship our Maker!

Lord, we covenant to always WORSHIP OUR MAKER, as You upheld us in the Womb and still uphold us in the World, in Jesus’ name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
