LIFE IS A BLESSING

“I have come that they may have LIFE, and that they may have it more abundantly” – John 10:10b

Those who know how to truly Think and Thank God will always appreciate that LIFE IS A BLESSING: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have LIFE, and that they may have it more abundantly” (Jh.10:10).  Life on earth is a precious, but delicate asset. Its value must not be ignored. Its essence must not be squandered in trivial pursuits. We must not let life slip away and leave us unprepared. We must take keen heed to the question: What is your life? James 4: 13-14 reads: “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. FOR WHAT IS YOUR LIFE? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”

From a temporal viewpoint, biological life is known for brevity and frailty – like a transient, disappearing vapour. From an eternal perspective however, Life is a Blessing, a Gift, an Assignment, and a Leverage that must not be taken for granted if one is to avoid misery. As soon as we forget to give thanks and praises to God for His gifts, we take them for granted. It’s important to seize every day, knowing that Life is a Gift from God. Counting blessings keeps us from taking life and other gifts for granted, and truly appreciate and enjoy every breath taken.

LIFE is a BLESSING! To be blessed means to be empowered; to have value added. God empowered each of us with life so that we can empower others. Every new day we wake up into, is another twenty-four wonderful hours of life to live! Every day is a Blessing from God – a new beginning. We may not consider or find anything special or worthy about our lives, but what if one didn’t wake up the next morning. This is the time to thank God for the blessings He has showered on us by giving us such precious lives. It behooves us to help others make each day a masterpiece, make friendship a passion, and drink deeply from God’s Book and other inspiring books.

LIFE is GOD’s GIFT entrusted to our care. Life is precious and like any gift, it can be wasted or squandered; or it can be used for the purpose it was intended. Life is God’s gift to man. What we do with life is our gift to God. Life must never be taken for granted: The breath in our nostrils; the blood flowing through our veins; the thoughts of the brain and memories of the heart. The impetus to fulfilling life is thanksgiving and praise. When we recognise life as a gift from God, we start appreciating every breath we take. Then, we are fully living. Our life may not be any more glamorous or easier than before. True Life in Christ is full of meaning and purpose, which also are gifts from God.

LIFE is a Timed ASSIGNMENT. We were not given life to merely exist. There's something special God assigned that each of us must do and accomplish – our Calling, Vision or Mission. There is a place, a location, a city, or a nation that God wants us to touch through our assignments.

LIFE is a LEVERAGE. Life is our God-given opportunity to influence others, a system, or an environment positively. It takes compassion and passion to experience impactful lives. Life is not a wish or luck; it is the daily expression of God's idea for creating us and giving us the privilege to be alive. God knows each of the seven billion lives on earth by name, colour, and race. Ultimately, our personalities define our lives. Good people – who live to be a blessing – are cherished, missed, and immortalized, while wicked, evil people are forgotten in a hurry.
